Apply in confidence →Our client, a global law firm, seeks a full-time Associate to join its Private Wealth Services Group in Fort Lauderdale. The group focuses on complex estate planning, wealth preservation, and tax matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely-held businesses. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or a junior attorney with up to four years of experience to join a dynamic, collaborative practice group dedicated to training associates and advancing their professional development. The position is full-time and onsite in Fort Lauderdale.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of estate planning documents, including wills and trusts for domestic and international clients.
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda on tax, probate, trust administration, and other private wealth issues.
- Supporting the team with the administration of estates and trusts, including probate filings and asset transfers.
- Participating in client meetings and assisting with the development of tailored wealth preservation strategies.
- Assisting in the preparation of gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax returns.
- Staying current on relevant tax laws, estate planning strategies, and industry developments.
- Collaborating with the broader Private Wealth Services team to deliver high-quality legal services.
Qualifications include a JD or JD/LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school, 0-4 years of relevant experience (preferably in estate planning, tax, or related areas), Florida Bar admission or willingness to become licensed in Florida promptly, strong academic credentials, excellent legal research and writing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities. An LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus. Resume, transcript, and writing sample required.
JD or JD/LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school. 0-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in estate planning, tax, or related areas. Florida Bar admission (or willingness to become licensed promptly). Strong academic credentials, excellent legal research and writing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational and collaborative abilities. LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred but not required.
