Professional Negligence Solicitor (NQ) or Paralegal

The Team: Join a leading defendant-side professional liability practice, recognised as one of the largest outside London. The team is collaborative, supportive, and enjoys a strong social culture, with 20+ senior members to learn from.

The Role: You will manage your own caseload while supporting senior colleagues on complex files. Working under partner supervision, you'll handle pre-action and litigated claims for insurers and professionals facing negligence allegations, with a focus on commercial litigation and professional indemnity matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Progress defence of multiple claims, liaising with clients, third parties, and opponents.
• Conduct disclosure reviews, costs budgeting, and instruct counsel and experts.
• Prepare court documents, including claims, defences, and hearing bundles.
• Perform legal research on liability and quantum, and draft reports and advice.
• Meet a 1,500 chargeable hour target and contribute to business development.

Requirements:

• NQ Solicitor, Trainee Solicitor, or Paralegal background in professional negligence, professional indemnity, or commercial litigation.
• 2:1 law degree (or non-law degree with PGDL).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
