Real Estate Disputes Lawyer (Managing Associate)

We are seeking an ambitious Managing Associate to join our Real Estate Disputes team in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to lead on high-value, high-profile and often complex litigation while taking a leading role in matter delivery, client relationships, and the development of junior team members.

The team is part of a wider Real Estate Group, with partners across multiple UK offices. You will work alongside a supportive cohort of partners, legal directors, managing associates and associates, handling a broad mix of contentious property matters for an impressive range of landlords, tenants, developers, investors, corporate occupiers, banks and insolvency practitioners.

The Role

• Lead on a varied mix of real estate disputes, with particular emphasis on complex and high-value matters.
• Handle the full range of landlord and tenant work, including lease renewals (contested and uncontested), dilapidations, break notices, forfeiture and possession actions.
• Take day-to-day ownership of matters, leading strategy, managing client relationships and driving cases forward commercially, working closely with partners and legal directors on the most complex mandates.
• Play a significant role in supporting key clients, strengthening relationships through excellent service and commercial insight.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers, supporting effective delegation and upholding high technical standards.
• Contribute to business development, including identifying opportunities, supporting pitches and panel appointments, and building your internal and external profile.

About You

• England & Wales qualified solicitor with at least 6 years' post-qualification experience in real estate disputes.
• Strong technical expertise across a broad range of contentious real estate matters, with the confidence to lead on complex landlord and tenant disputes.
• Able to manage significant matters autonomously, exercising sound judgement on legal, procedural and strategic issues.
• Commercial, solutions-focused approach, aligning legal advice with clients' commercial objectives.
• Excellent client relationship management skills, with experience as a trusted day-to-day adviser.
• Strong organisational and matter management skills, able to balance competing priorities and delegate effectively.
