We are seeking an Associate to join our well-regarded Residential Sales team in Manchester. This permanent, full-time role focuses on managing a varied caseload of new build development matters nationwide, including leasehold and freehold schemes.

You will be part of a team that delivers a comprehensive range of plot sale services to developers, including shared ownership and open market sales, interim and final staircasing, licence to assign applications, lease extensions, and buy-back/re-sales. The team handles residential conveyancing work from acquisition through to sale, acting for private developers, registered providers, and local authorities. This role does not involve acting for individual buyers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up development sites for plot sales, including preparing precedent documentation and sale packs.
  • Providing input to the acquisition team on title documentation and its compatibility with sales.
  • Liaising with specialist teams (e.g., energy, litigation) for advice on development matters.
  • Acting for private developers and social housing providers in preparing model documents.
  • Supervising and supporting paralegals and CILEX-qualified fee earners throughout the sales and post-sales lifecycle.
  • Contributing to business development activities, including client presentations, seminars, and articles.
  • Managing client relationships and meeting billing targets.

Suitable candidates will be experienced in residential development sales, with strong technical knowledge and a collaborative approach.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid experience in residential development sales or a related conveyancing discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of leasehold and freehold schemes, shared ownership, and plot sales processes.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team and supervise junior fee earners.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
