Apply in confidence →

Join the nationally recognised Construction & Engineering practice of a leading UK law firm, advising clients on major construction, engineering, energy and infrastructure projects both domestically and internationally. This role can be based in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester.

As a senior member of the team, you will take day-to-day responsibility for advising on a broad range of contentious matters, leading some cases and working closely with partners on others. You will mentor junior lawyers and collaborate across the firm to deliver joined-up, commercially focused advice.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on contentious construction and engineering disputes, including delay, disruption, defects, payment issues, professional negligence, and contractor or consultant claims.
  • Providing pragmatic dispute avoidance advice and strategies to manage and minimise risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supporting clients through negotiations, mediations, and other ADR processes.
  • Leading or assisting with adjudications, litigation, and domestic and international arbitrations.
  • Building trusted client relationships and contributing to business development activity.
  • Mentoring and supporting more junior team members to develop their technical skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction lawyer to progress towards partnership or senior associate roles within a supportive, high-performing team.

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE.
  • Experience in contentious construction, engineering, and infrastructure work, ideally with some international arbitration exposure.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and technical skills, with a track record of advising on complex contractual and project issues.
  • Confident managing matters autonomously while collaborating effectively.
  • Commercially aware with a practical approach to risk management.
  • Proactive in business development and team growth.
  • Experience mentoring junior lawyers.
