We are seeking a Knowledge Counsel / Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join our market-leading Planning team, ranked Band 1 in Legal 500. This role offers the opportunity to support some of the largest development and energy & infrastructure projects in the UK, with the flexibility to spend a portion of your time fee-earning if desired.

You will play a key part in the team’s knowledge management, precedent development, research, training, business development, and innovation initiatives. This includes taking a lead role in driving the team’s AI strategy and collaborating with innovation colleagues to enhance the quality and efficiency of knowledge support.

The role covers a broad range of planning work, including development consent orders, compulsory purchase and compensation, planning applications and appeals, marine licences, environmental impact assessments, habitats regulations assessments, public inquiries, highways matters, judicial review, asset protection, planning agreements, and reporting and due diligence.

This is a UK-wide role, and we are open to candidates based in Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol, or potentially London.

Qualified solicitor.
Genuine interest in planning, knowledge management, research, business development, and innovation.
Experience working in a recognised planning team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong academic background.
Commercially minded with a commitment to innovation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational, administrative, and time-management skills, with the drive to meet demanding deadlines.
