Apply in confidence →We are recruiting a Senior Legal Engineer to join a UK-based firm's knowledge/legal engineering function. This role sits across multiple UK offices and will lead the practical adoption of generative AI and agentic technologies to improve legal workflows and service delivery.
The post-holder will work closely with practice teams and technical colleagues to design use cases, develop prompts and agentic solutions, deliver accessible training, and act as the day-to-day advisory point for AI best practice and limitations. The role combines legal experience with technical fluency and a focus on change management and stakeholder engagement.
This is a hands-on role that includes designing training materials, upskilling internal AI champions, testing solutions with cross-functional teams, and keeping the firm abreast of developments in legal AI and related risk considerations.
- Qualified lawyer with significant experience practising in a legal environment.
- At least two years' experience in legal technology, innovation or a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
- Strong understanding of generative AI technologies and practical experience optimising their use in legal workflows.
- Proven ability to train and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and project management skills, with experience running multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Awareness of legal/regulatory risks associated with AI; experience rolling out legal AI tools and prompt engineering techniques is highly desirable.
