Tax Associate (Houston)

We are seeking associates in law school class years 2019 to 2025 to join our prestigious and growing tax practice.

• Relevant transactional tax experience, including one or more of: strategic and private equity M&A, capital markets (including spin-offs and IPOs), energy taxation (including oil and gas and/or energy transition), investment fund formation, and/or real estate (including REIT) matters.
• Class-year appropriate understanding of technical tax law, with strong research and writing abilities.
• Outstanding oral communication and analytical skills, plus top academic credentials.
• Ability and desire to think creatively about interesting, difficult, and often novel problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills; enthusiasm for interacting directly with clients and other group members, and for public speaking (including at large national conferences).

This is a transactional tax role within a collaborative national practice; candidates will work on sophisticated matters for a broad range of clients.

Candidates must have class-year appropriate technical tax knowledge and relevant transactional tax experience, as well as outstanding communication and analytical skills, top academic credentials, and strong interpersonal skills.
