Our integrated Brands group offers comprehensive services covering the entire brand lifecycle, from inception to protection, commercialisation and enforcement.
We are looking for a talented associate to advise on a varied range of IP advisory and disputes work, particularly in relation to soft IP matters (trade marks, designs and copyright). The role includes day-to-day portfolio management, worldwide filing, prosecution and enforcement, and Registry dispute work at the UKIPO and other IP offices around the world.
You will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of the IP team’s work, including business development, client care, training and learning, and social impact projects. Associates are encouraged to take on leadership roles regardless of seniority.
- 2–4 years’ PQE gained within IP in private practice.
- A passion for IP, with a solid grounding in its basics and a commitment to building a career in IP.
- Experience advising on trade mark and design strategy, clearance, prosecution, monitoring, portfolio management and enforcement.
- Knowledge and experience of working with the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO.
- Excellent client care skills, advocating for clients from both a technical and commercial perspective.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of client work allocated by Partners.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Strong organisational and prioritising skills to meet the demands of challenging commercial clients.
- Personable and confident, with good working relationships across colleagues, clients and external organisations.
- Resilient and calm under pressure.
- Demonstrates a hunger to undertake business development activities.
- Takes responsibility for self-development.
