Consulting Lawyer – Corporate M&A / Commercial (Australia)

We are seeking experienced corporate M&A lawyers to join our panel of independent legal consultants, offering the flexibility to choose assignments while backed by the resources, training, and community of a leading international firm.

As a consultant, you will have the opportunity to work on high-quality engagements with leading clients, either in-house or supporting the firm’s practice on an ad-hoc or fixed-term basis. Assignments typically range from two to twelve months and are usually structured around four days per week.

We are particularly interested in lawyers with top-tier technical expertise across the following areas:

• Mergers and acquisitions
• General corporate advisory and/or compliance
• Commercial contracts
• Payments and/or fintech
• Intellectual property, technology, and data privacy
• Private equity and venture capital
• Competition and consumer law
• General employment law and employment contracts

Who we are looking for:

• Qualified to practice law in Australia with unrestricted rights to work and reside in Australia
• Minimum of four years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a top-tier law firm and/or a leading financial institution or corporate (directly or as a secondee)
• Strong technical knowledge in a common law jurisdiction
• Self-starter with a proven ability to work autonomously and thrive in a consultant model
• Experience leading or working within complex, multi-functional, multi-national project environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
• Client-service focused with strong commercial acumen
• Resilient, adaptable, and highly credible
