A leading international firm is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join its flexible legal resourcing platform in Brisbane on a full-time, 3-month engagement. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise across a diverse range of clients and matters while enjoying the flexibility and support of a global platform.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic and practical advice on employment and workplace relations law, particularly within the public sector.
  • Managing disciplinary processes, grievances, and disputes, including advising on misconduct and integrity issues.
  • Interpreting and advising on industrial instruments, enterprise agreements, and employment conditions.
  • Conducting and overseeing workplace investigations.
  • Advising on discrimination, equal opportunity, anti-bullying, human rights, and workplace behaviour matters.
  • Handling privacy, information management, and confidentiality issues in employment contexts.
  • Supporting senior executives and decision-makers with commercially focused, risk-based advice.
  • Managing a substantial caseload with high standards of client service and drafting clear, effective correspondence and reports.

You will bring:

  • At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in employment law, ideally with exposure to the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector employment frameworks, including relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters and deliver pragmatic, outcomes-focused advice.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated judgment, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • A current Australian practising certificate and the right to work in Australia.

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in employment and workplace relations law

  • Proven ability to conduct workplace investigations

  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
