Apply in confidence →Our Entertainment and Media practice group is seeking a senior-level Music Associate (5th–8th year) to join our specialized music team in our Century City, Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile transactions with a diverse client base, including emerging and established artists, music companies, investors, digital music platforms, and music entrepreneurs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on a broad range of music industry transactions, including recording agreements, music publishing and administration agreements, catalog acquisitions and sales, management agreements, joint venture agreements, and sponsorship and endorsement deals.
- Handling music-related M&A matters, including conducting due diligence and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating acquisition, sale, and financing agreements.
- Providing strategic legal counsel on copyright issues and matters involving artificial intelligence in the music space.

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar (or ability to become admitted promptly).
- 5–8 years of experience as a music associate at a law firm, with a strong focus on music industry transactions and music M&A.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating recording, publishing, and other music-related agreements.
- Strong knowledge of copyright law and familiarity with emerging AI-related legal issues in the entertainment sector.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
