Apply in confidence →Growing IP litigation team seeks a non-partnership track staff attorney to handle patent litigation and related matters in the Washington, DC office. The role reports into the litigation group and carries a billable-hour expectation of approximately 1,500 hours per year.
Typical responsibilities include invalidity and infringement analyses, deposition support and preparation, drafting expert reports, and handling post‑grant proceedings (e.g., IPRs). The position may also assist with drafting and prosecuting patent applications for technology and financial services clients.
Telecommuting from a home office in the DC metro area (DC/VA/MD) may be considered; licensure in the home jurisdiction is required and District of Columbia bar membership is preferred (required within one year). The expected salary range at time of posting is $145,000 to $165,000.
- Minimum ~3 years' experience in patent litigation, including invalidity/infringement analyses and post‑grant proceedings
- STEM degree required (BS/MS/PhD in computer science, electrical/computer/mechanical engineering, or physics)
- Experience preparing deposition materials and drafting expert reports
- Patent prosecution experience desirable; USPTO registration preferred
- Strong analytical, research and written advocacy skills; bar licensure in home jurisdiction required (DC bar preferred and required within one year)
