Apply in confidence →AmLaw 50 full-service law firm seeks a mid-level associate with 5–7 years of international trade experience to join its Governmental Practice Group, based in any of its Southern California offices (San Diego–Downtown, San Diego–Del Mar, Los Angeles, Century City, or Orange County). Preference will be given to candidates based in or willing to relocate to Orange County, Los Angeles, or Century City.
The International Trade team advises clients on sanctions, export and import controls, anti-bribery, and foreign investment matters, appearing before U.S. agencies including BIS, DDTC, OFAC, Customs and Border Protection, the Import Administration, the International Trade Commission, and CFIUS. The role offers challenging, collegial work across the full scope of the practice.
Requirements:
- At least 5–7 years of international trade law experience, preferably with a large law firm or a relevant government agency
- Experience in three or more of the following: export controls (EAR/ITAR), CFIUS reviews, economic sanctions and embargoes, customs law, international trade agreements, or AD/CVD
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Research and analytical skills
- Admission to and good standing with the California bar
