Apply in confidence →Our client, a global full-service law firm, is seeking an International Trade Associate with 5 to 7 years of experience to join its Governmental Practice Group. This position can be based in any of the firm's Southern California offices, including San Diego (Downtown and Del Mar), Los Angeles, Century City, or Orange County. Preference will be shown to applicants based in or willing to relocate to the Orange County, Los Angeles, or Century City offices.
The International Trade team handles a full range of trade matters, including sanctions, export and import controls, anti-bribery compliance, and foreign investment reviews. The team regularly advises clients on matters before key U.S. agencies such as the Departments of Commerce, State, and Treasury, as well as Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
The ideal candidate will have experience in at least three or more of the following areas:
- Export controls (including EAR and ITAR)
- Foreign investment reviews (CFIUS)
- Economic sanctions and embargoes
- Customs law
- International trade agreements
- Antidumping and countervailing duties (AD/CVD)
Requirements include excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong academic credentials, and research and analytical abilities. Candidates must be admitted to and in good standing with the California bar. A resume, cover letter, and law school transcript are required.
