Seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with 3 to 6 years of experience to join a large full-service firm's San Francisco office. This is an opportunity to work within a renowned Labor & Employment practice group known for advising employers from Fortune 100 companies to startups on all employment matters, including traditional labor relations.

The Traditional Labor team is growing and offers a dynamic environment for an outstanding associate with hands-on expertise across the full spectrum of labor relations work. Ideal candidates will bring a deep understanding of union campaigns, NLRB proceedings, arbitration, collective bargaining, and labor aspects of corporate transactions.

  • Union campaigns & organizing: advise employers on organizing drives, vulnerability assessments, and strategic communication.
  • NLRB advocacy: handle unfair labor practice proceedings, representation cases, hearings, and litigation before the Board and state agencies.
  • Grievance & arbitration: manage contract grievances and represent management in labor arbitrations.
  • Collective bargaining: serve as spokesperson or strategist, draft contract language, and advise on labor agreements.
  • Crisis management: provide rapid-response counseling for disputes, restructuring, strikes, picketing, and workplace crises.
  • Corporate transactions: counsel clients on labor and employment aspects of M&A, including due diligence, successorship, and pension obligations.

Qualified candidates must be admitted to the California Bar, hold strong academic credentials, with experience in a law firm or equivalent setting. This role requires in-office presence at least three days per week.

  • 3–6 years of experience in traditional labor law
  • Admission to and good standing with the California Bar
  • High academic performance (law school transcript required)
  • Experience across union campaigns, NLRB litigation, grievance/arbitration, and collective bargaining
  • Strong communication, drafting, and strategic counseling skills
  • Ability to work in-office a minimum of three days per week
