Legal Technology & AI Attorney – Tech & Innovation

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Legal Technology & AI Attorney to join its Tech & Innovation Industry Group and Knowledge Management & AI Group. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of legal practice, technology, and experimentation, and is ideal for a lawyer with a strong background in technology-sector legal work who is deeply engaged with how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping—and will continue to transform—legal practice.

Based in any U.S. office (New York or Palo Alto preferred), you will collaborate across offices and administrative teams to translate emerging technology into practical, high-impact tools for lawyers and clients. You will report to the Sr. Director & Counsel of Knowledge & AI.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies across technology and product regulatory counseling, government investigations, tech and IP litigation, AI, privacy, cybersecurity, data matters, technology transactions, and commercial agreements.
• Evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-assisted tools, document automation, prompt libraries, and technology-enabled workflows to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Participate in technology pilots and assessments, including AI-driven research, drafting, knowledge extraction, and contract and document analysis.
• Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and administrative teams to design user-centered tools grounded in legal judgment.
• Lead training sessions for attorneys and staff on knowledge systems, AI tools, and new workflows.
• Gather feedback to support continuous improvement of knowledge management products and technology adoption.
• Enhance knowledge and work-product resources by integrating evolving legal, regulatory, and market developments into model materials and guidance.
• Use AI-assisted tools to analyze and refine work product against internal standards and evolving law and market practice.
• Build and maintain scalable precedent and knowledge infrastructure, serving as a trusted internal resource for Tech & Innovation lawyers.

Qualifications & Experience:

• J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent with strong academic credentials; must be admitted to practice and in good standing in the state where you will be based.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technology-focused practice.
• Demonstrated passion for AI and emerging technology, with a strong perspective on applying such tools to legal practice and workflows.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong initiative, critical-thinking, and independent judgment; creative and strategic thinker open to experimentation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to build strong working relationships across practice groups.
• Demonstrated ability to apply legal training to new contexts, including workflow design or process improvement; personal or professional coding or tech-building experience is highly valued.
