Apply in confidence →Leading national fintech and financial services practice is hiring a Licensing Attorney to support a high-volume, multistate licensing team. This is an off-track associate role working with experienced lawyers across a nationwide licensing platform.
The role focuses on the full licensing lifecycle: conducting multistate legal reviews to identify licensing requirements, preparing and assembling state license applications (including NMLS matters), and advising on post-licensure state and federal compliance obligations. Additional work may include related regulatory, compliance, corporate, and transactional matters within the practice.
- Juris Doctor and active bar membership in the hiring office jurisdiction
- 2–6 years’ legal experience handling licensing or regulatory matters at a law firm, company, or regulator
- Familiarity with state licensing processes and NMLS filings
- Experience reviewing state statutes and regulations and general knowledge of federal consumer finance laws (e.g., TILA, RESPA, UDAP)
- Detail-oriented drafting skills, strong organizational ability, and capability to manage multiple projects to deadline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with standard office software
