Apply in confidence →National law firm is seeking a midlevel associate to join a busy Employee Benefits practice. The role is open across multiple U.S. offices and will focus on employee benefits and executive compensation work, with a significant emphasis on supporting M&A transactions.
Typical responsibilities include counseling on qualified pension and defined contribution plans, health and welfare arrangements, nonqualified deferred compensation and equity compensation, and drafting and negotiating plan documents and executive agreements. The team also handles non-M&A benefits matters, and candidates should be prepared to work across both transactional and advisory matters.
Bar membership is required. The firm welcomes applicants with strong academic credentials and 3–5 years of law firm benefits experience.
- 3–5 years of law firm experience in employee benefits/executive compensation
- Experience advising on benefits issues in M&A transactions; willing to handle non-M&A benefits matters
- Practical experience drafting and operating qualified pension, defined contribution, health & welfare, nonqualified deferred compensation and equity compensation documents
- Active bar membership and strong academic record
- Ability to work in a multi-office national practice and collaborate across teams
