We are looking for an experienced and proactive Practice Assistant to join our Construction Litigation team. You will support the day-to-day operation of the practice, with a focus on complex billing, document management, client service and matter coordination.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing complex billing processes, including bill preparation, WIP management, reporting and client billing requirements
- Coordinating the preparation, formatting and management of complex legal documents, reports and correspondence
- Maintaining document control and ensuring accuracy of amendments and document versions
- Preparing document bundles and supporting client-facing materials and presentations
- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets, tracking tools and reports for matter management
- Opening and closing matters, maintaining records and ensuring data integrity across firm systems
- Coordinating meetings and travel arrangements
- Assisting with business development activities, client events and pitch materials
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and delivering high-level client service
About you:
- A minimum of five years' experience in a legal support role such as Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Legal Executive
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple senior stakeholders in a busy legal environment
- Strong knowledge of legal billing processes; experience with Elite is highly regarded
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to analyse information, exercise sound judgement and solve problems effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence to build strong working relationships
- Experience supporting matter management, court administration, or document preparation is highly regarded
- Previous paralegal experience is advantageous but not essential
