Senior Associate opportunity to join a well-established Professional & Financial Risks team in Bristol within a national insurance practice. The team acts for Professional Indemnity insurers and insureds across a range of sectors, handling matters from early advice and pre-action strategy to complex litigation, regulatory and Ombudsman work, and coverage issues.

The role offers a broad, varied caseload defending professional negligence and related claims (notably against solicitors and financial professionals), leading coverage/policy response work, and managing PI matters with growing autonomy. You will work closely with senior lawyers across the team and contribute to service improvement and client management.

The team values commercial, client-focused lawyers who can coach junior colleagues, support business development, and work within agreed financial and resourcing disciplines. Flexible and inclusive working arrangements are supported.

Minimum c.5 years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in professional indemnity litigation; insurance experience desirable
Knowledge of litigation procedure, case management and coverage/policy response work
Experience or interest in claims against solicitors, accountants and financial services disputes, plus regulatory/ombudsman processes
Commercial mindset with strong client relationship and business development abilities
Ability to coach and develop junior team members; competent with Microsoft Office
