Candidates · In-house to firm
Returning from in-house to private practice: possible or not.
The folklore says the door shut behind you. The tape is a stock, a seat map and a pay cliff — and no official count of who actually walks back.
Is the door closed — or is the count missing?
The Lawyer UK 100 firms housed 22,225 lawyers in London in 2025, Pirical recorded on 11 June 2025. Sartori maps roughly 30,000 lawyers in the city. Nobody publishes how many in house counsel rejoin a firm in a year.
Years 4 to 6 in a company legal team, doing SPA, warranty or facility work that still looks like a file. The return is an associate seat, not a title restoration. Test the lockstep associate door.
The closed-door story is doing the work a flow statistic would have done. The missing count is laid out below.

How many in house counsel actually return?
England and Wales has a dated in-house stock and a private-practice share. It does not have an origin-destination matrix. Folklore grew in the hole.
The Law Society Annual Statistics Report 2023, published on 23 January 2025, dates the in-house stock to July 2023 and records a 1,058-person rise, or 3 percent, on 2022. Private practice still held 59 percent of practising-certificate holders, down from 69 percent in 2014. Unaffiliated certificate holders were 26,242, or 16 percent. Those are employment-type stocks. They are not a count of who crossed back.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority’s regulated-population table, current through July 2026, records 178,428 practising solicitors and 7,674 registered foreign lawyers. Head offices with Recognised Sole Practice, Recognised Body or Licensed Body status were 9,471 in July 2023 and 9,169 in January 2025, before the June 2026 print. Over the 12 months to the end of June 2026, 361 firms opened; over the 12 months to the end of April 2026, 518 firms closed. Concentration of private-practice employers is a real series. It is still not a return series.
The market those firms sit in is large enough to have seats. TheCityUK’s UK legal services report of 9 December 2025 put legal-services GVA at £38 billion in 2024, 1.5 percent of UK GVA and up 3.3 percent year on year, with legal-activities revenue of £52.3 billion. London employed 128,000 people in the sector and produced GVA of £14,855 million on the regional dashboard. More than 200 foreign law firms from about 40 jurisdictions have UK operations; all of the world’s top 50 law firms have London offices, employing more than 8,500 lawyers, mainly from the UK. The Commercial Court was 72 percent international in 2024; the Patents Court was 80 percent. More than 31,514 civil disputes were resolved by arbitration, mediation and adjudication in the UK in 2024. The Law Society’s economic-contribution paper of 28 November 2024, using 2022 data, put turnover at £44 billion and GVA at £34.2 billion, and later updated legal-services exports to £9.5 billion in 2023. English law, on that page, governs approximately 40 percent of global corporate arbitrations. Capital and court mix are not a return flow. They are why a closed-door story needs a better explanation than “there is no work.”
The SRA’s in-house thematic review of 14 March 2023 found more than 34,500 in-house solicitors in more than 6,000 organizations, on more than 1,200 survey responses plus interviews. Thirty percent of senior leaders thought their teams would increase in size over the next 12 months; 15 percent thought they would decrease. Most respondents — 60 percent of senior and junior solicitors — sat in a central team. Titles named in that review, with no people attached, include General Counsel, legal director and company secretary. Demand sentiment inside company legal teams is not a vacancy count at firms.
Two later headlines sit beside that stock and should not be averaged with it. TheCityUK’s UK legal services report of 9 December 2025 states that the in-house share has reached 25 percent of the profession. A Law Gazette feature on in-house training, accessed in September 2026, says just over a quarter, 26 percent, citing the Law Society’s most recent statistics. The dated measured stock remains the July 2023 Annual Statistics Report figure. Treat 25 to 26 percent as a later or differently defined headline.
Quarterly surveys have run since 2019 across a global mapping of nearly 1.5 million lawyer profiles. Sartori’s New York interview cohort (1,675 structured interviews) hears a louder version of the same closed-door story; that city also lacks an official return-flow census. Across Sartori’s London interview cohort (750 structured interviews), 228 respondents sitting as in-house counsel, general counsel, chief legal officer or head of legal over a 24-month window were asked whether a return still existed as a product. One hundred sixty-seven of those 228 — 73 percent — described the door as closed for anyone past five years in a company. Forty-one of the same 228 had opened a live process with a firm in those 24 months. Fourteen of those 41 reached a second interview. The folklore is the majority read. The tested door is a minority behavior.
A general counsel at a UK-listed industrial, speaking inside that 228-person cut, put the firm-side filter in one line: every firm that took a call asked what would follow, and the honest answer was nothing the seat owned. That is testimony about a following test, not a published refusal rate. The Law Society’s 16 November 2023 in-house guide still tells trainees that in-house experience does not prevent a later move into private practice. Representative-body prose is not a mobility matrix either. Admissions in 2023 were 8,304; the same report cites a projection of about 33,000 admissions across 2024 to 2027. Those people will swell both payrolls. They will not tell you who came back.
The folklore of a closed door outruns the tape.
The seats that would take you are large. They are not tagged for you.
London UK 100 headcount is a capacity figure. Consultant-platform laterals are a measured senior channel. Government and central-bank desks are inbound in-house employers, not return seats.
We have worked the London market for more than 10 years, for company legal teams and for firms that hire associates onto English-law desks. Over the trailing three years we closed 33 associate searches, with a 93 percent completion rate and a typical timeline of 6 to 12 weeks. Of those 33 closed files, 11 put at least one shortlisted candidate whose last employer was an in-house legal team. Four of those 11 appointed that person. Seven appointed a lawyer whose last seat was another firm. The returner was interviewable. The returner was not, on those seven files, the hire.
Pirical’s 11 June 2025 London UK 100 cut puts Corporate as the largest London practice at 3,059 lawyers (up 27 percent since 2022), Real Estate at 3,047 (up 14 percent), Dispute Resolution and Litigation at 2,438 (up 17 percent), Banking and Finance at 1,992, and Employment at 1,367. London lawyer headcount at those firms grew 20 percent over three years. Those are desks a returning legal counsel could, in principle, map onto. Pirical’s public London leaderboard does not tag associate seats “ex in-house.” Neither does any regulator.
The measured high-volume senior channel sits somewhere else. Pirical’s London leaderboard dated 25 August 2026, covering July 2025 to July 2026, recorded 42 London laterals at Keystone Law — the highest in the city — at a platform whose own join page invites lawyers from conventional firms or in-house positions and states the gate as a client following or a genuinely realistic expectation of generating one. Remuneration on that employer page is 15 percent origination, 60 percent delivery, 75 percent if both, with headline rates of £500 to £700 per hour and £60 million of professional indemnity cover. Average PQE of its lawyers is stated as 22 years. That is a consultant product, not Magic Circle lockstep.
Two large London in-house buyers compete for the same people this page is about, which is why the folklore of a one-way street still feels true. The Bank of England Legal Directorate, updated 31 October 2025, is labelled in-house, holds about 170 colleagues, and typically hires at 1 to 4 years’ PQE, or 4-plus for more senior seats, across financial-services regulation, payments, insolvency, litigation, employment, contracts, procurement and data protection. Time recording is not typically required. The Government Legal Department’s 2024 campaign advertised 60 trainee solicitor positions via the Legal Trainee Scheme, most of them in London, with already-qualified solicitors and barristers ineligible for that trainee scheme. Those are inbound in-house seats. They are not the return.
A London-headquartered global bank makes the same point at group scale. HSBC Holdings plc, in 57 countries, with assets of US$3,234 billion at 30 September 2025, announced a legal-AI pilot inside its Global Legal function on 20 January 2026 under a Group Chief Legal Officer title. That is a company legal function large enough to run enterprise tools. It is not a firm vacancy. FCA Handbook SYSC 26.4, last updated 24 April 2026 when accessed, still lets a bank or insurer allocate the SMCR legal function to someone who is not an SMF manager. A head of legal who leaves that seat does not drop a prescribed SMF on the way out. The professional-independence architecture travels. The following does not, unless it was always theirs.
A salary on a firm lockstepA following, or no firm seat
- Lockstep City Associate and counsel desks in Corporate, disputes, banking, employment. The test is a matter list. The product is not advertised as a return.
- US firm in London AM Law 100 UK headcount is the public signal. Transatlantic file shape helps. Origination still decides anything senior.
- Platform consultant Self-employed, origination-gated, the only employer that lists in-house departments as a prior source of its lawyers.
- Inbound in-house Banks, the central bank, government legal, local authorities. They hire the same people. They are not the return door.
A head of legal median sits where Magic Circle newly qualified pay begins.
The closed-door story is often a pay-cliff story told as stigma. The two measured series sit on top of each other at the head-of-legal median — and nowhere near profit share.
Incomes Data Research’s 2025 in-house survey put newly qualified lawyers at a UK median of £44,263 and a London median of £57,000. Legal advisers sat at a UK median of £59,050 and a London median of £66,934. Heads of legal were close to £150,000 at the median, with some surpassing £200,000. Senior in-house legal advisers typically saw a 12 percent bonus and a £7,000 car allowance. IDR restates Office for National Statistics ASHE provisional data released 23 October 2025: median full-time annual earnings for solicitors and lawyers rose 10.7 percent year on year, against 4.3 percent for all full-time employees. What that survey measures is employer-reported in-house structure. It is not City lockstep.
Magic Circle newly qualified base tells the other half. Clifford Chance raised newly qualified salary by £25,000 to £150,000, backdated to 1 May 2024, following Freshfields and Linklaters, with trainee year one at £56,000 and year two at £61,000 from 1 September 2024 (The Lawyer, 29 May 2024). RollOnFriday, 31 May 2024, records A&O Shearman matching £150,000 the same day. Legal Business, 4 September 2024, records Slaughter and May raising newly qualified pay to £150,000 from 1 September 2024. Those figures are for trainees qualifying into the firm. They are not published bands for in-house counsel.
Put the two series in one frame and the folklore becomes arithmetic. The London in-house newly qualified median of £57,000 sits at roughly two-fifths of the Magic Circle newly qualified base. The head-of-legal median sits on the Magic Circle newly qualified number, not on profit. Clifford Chance, for the year ended 30 April 2025, reported revenue of £2.4 billion, partnership profit of £944 million, and PEP of £2.11 million (firm announcement, 23 July 2025). Linklaters, year to 30 April 2025, reported revenue of £2.32 billion, pre-tax profit of £1.08 billion, and PEP of £2.2 million (Law Gazette, 23 July 2025). A Law Gazette piece dated 7 August 2026 put average profit per equity partner about £1 million higher in 2025/26 than in 2015/16 at Linklaters, Clifford Chance and A&O Shearman. A returning head of legal is not being priced into that lift.
London associate files in our mandate telemetry show a 35 percent counter-offer incidence. Company legal teams fight to keep people they have already trained on the business. That retention reflex is one reason the return feels closed from the inside: the employer who can write a counter is sitting across the desk, and the firm that might take you is testing a matter list you have not kept. Offer-to-acceptance on the same associate line runs a median of 12 working days. The clock is short once a firm has actually decided. Getting to that clock is the work.
UK in-house NQ median
Incomes Data Research 2025 survey. Employer-reported in-house structure, not City lockstep.
IDR, In-house legal pay in 2025A head of legal median sits at the Magic Circle newly qualified base, not at partner profit.
Dated instruments open desks. They do not publish a return rate.
Listing rules, fraud prevention, motor finance, digital-markets designations, NSI notifications and the Employment Rights Act reprice files. A returning legal counsel maps onto a file, not onto a mood.
The FCA’s PS24/6, dated 11 July 2024, put the new UK Listing Rules in force on 29 July 2024 and named the advisory community, including law firms, among those affected. EY-Parthenon’s IPO Eye of 6 January 2026 counted 23 companies listing on the London stock market in 2025, raising £2.1 billion — against £777.7 million from 18 issuers in 2024 — and still called the year low against historical levels. HMRC’s Stamp Duty Reserve Tax UK Listing Relief, operative 27 November 2025, exempts the 0.5 percent SDRT charge for three years on newly listed UK-regulated-market securities, with an OBR-certified costing of −£25 million in 2025-26 rising to −£50 million a year from 2028-29. A returning capital-markets counsel maps onto that book. A governance-only general counsel does not.
Public M&A did not wait for the IPO recovery. LexisNexis Market Standards, on Takeover-Code deals from 1 January to 31 December 2025, reviewed 129 transactions and counted 56 firm offers with aggregate value of £40.5 billion, down from £54.9 billion in 2024. Thirty of those 56 offers, 54 percent, were public-to-private, against 42 percent in 2024. Overseas bidders took 80 percent of aggregate value; US bidders took 61 percent. H1 carried 36 firm offers; H2 carried 20. The change-of-control carve-out on the SDRT relief keeps Code M&A fully taxed and fully lawyered. Senior associates who have lived inside a company on a take-private file are in that product. Newly qualified in-house lawyers are not.
Failure to prevent fraud came into force on 1 September 2025 under SI 2025/349. Large organizations can be criminally liable where an associated person commits fraud intending to benefit the organization; the defense is reasonable prevention procedures. Statutory guidance was updated on 10 October 2025. That statute prices in-house investigations seats and firm white-collar desks at experienced seniority, not at NQ. The SRA’s 18 November 2024 in-house guidance suite — identifying the client, reporting wrongdoing, internal investigations, privilege, employer obligations, board-level summary — followed the 2023 thematic review and names high-profile cases such as the Post Office as context. It is a documented independence push. It is not a leaver census, and our mandate telemetry cannot see how many in-house solicitors left because an employer would not resource that independence. That is a hole in our own file.
The UK Supreme Court handed down Johnson v FirstRand Bank Ltd on 1 August 2025, [2025] UKSC 33, with the FCA intervening. The FCA then made a section 404 scheme; as of the statement accessed in September 2026, the Upper Tribunal will hear challenges on 14 to 18 December 2026 or 16 to 26 February 2027, and firms need not calculate or pay redress until that process ends. Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act Parts 1 and 2 commenced on 1 January 2025. The CMA designated Apple and Google with Strategic Market Status on 22 October 2025 for five years. The UK designations are the domestic instrument; the EU regulation in the same family is a contrast, not this page’s mechanism. Competition counsel at designated platforms, fintechs and banks is a specialist return product. It is not a generalist head-of-legal landing.
The National Security and Investment Act annual report for 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, published 14 July 2026, recorded 1,324 notifications, up 15 percent on 2024/25, with 4.4 percent called in and 95.6 percent taking no further action, nine final orders and one prohibition. Defence accounted for 58 percent of notifications accepted or rejected. The Employment Rights Act 2025 received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025. Pirical already showed Employment as a top-five London UK 100 practice. Thomson Reuters Institute’s 2025 State of the Corporate Law Department Report, 25 March 2025, interviewed more than 2,400 corporate general counsel and found cost control the top strategic priority in the United Kingdom as well as the United States and Canada. The 2025 Legal Department Operations Index found 55 percent of respondents reporting flat or decreasing legal-department budgets and 46 percent expecting more work brought in-house. A company that will not grow the legal team is a push factor. It is still not a published return rate.

Four doors, not one — and a matter list instead of a board pack.
The regulatory cost of returning is operational: client-care, conflicts, compulsory PII via an authorized body. It is not a ban. File shape decides which door, if any, is real.
Moving from a company legal team to a City firm is a change of regulated entity, not a change of the individual’s Code of Conduct. The SRA’s employer-authorization guidance, updated 25 November 2019, is blunt: an in-house solicitor’s employer generally need not be SRA-authorized if reserved legal services are provided only to the employer or persons connected to it. Authorization is triggered when reserved services are provided to the public as part of the employer’s business. Identifying the client, in the SRA’s in-house guidance, means the employer as an organization, distinct from the instructing director. On a return, that single-client model becomes many external clients and billable matters. Paragraphs 8.1 to 8.11 of the Code made 16 December 2024 bite the moment the employer serves the public.
Qualification gates are asymmetric. Qualifying work experience can be completed in an in-house team: two years’ full-time equivalent, in no more than four organizations, confirmed by a solicitor of England and Wales or a COLP (SRA, updated 26 January 2024). Qualified lawyers do not need those two years (SRA, 14 October 2025). SQE has been the single assessment since 1 September 2021. The Law Gazette training feature records that only one in ten solicitors trains at in-house departments. A foreign-qualified in-house lawyer may sit in a London company legal team without registered-foreign-lawyer status; RFL registration is required to become a manager or owner of a non-ABS authorized firm (Law Society, Doing legal business in England and Wales). The Law Society’s 16 November 2023 guide records that 8.4 percent of 5,626 training positions registered between July 2019 and July 2020 were in-house. None of those rules is a closed-door statute.
A&O Shearman completed its combination on 1 May 2024: nearly 4,000 lawyers, about 800 partners, combined revenues about US$3.5 billion. Pirical recorded AM Law 100 partner headcount in the UK up 22 percent since 2022, with one US firm at 230 UK partners in the 2025 snapshot. Those are senior, origination-shaped products. They are a door for some returning general counsel with a following. They are a closed door for mid-level in-house counsel without one. The Law Society In-house Network still publishes an In-House Practice Diploma for in-house solicitors and those moving from private practice — the representative body’s traffic is still mostly the outbound move. This page owns the reverse. The in-house transition playbook owns the first move the other way.
Three anonymized composites from the London associate line, consistent with those 33 closed files. A legal counsel at years 4 to 6 inside a PE-backed software company mapped 18 months of SPA and warranty work onto a UK 100 corporate associate seat; the file closed in 10 weeks, inside the 6-to-12-week timeline, after the candidate restated the last two years as matters with hours. A head of legal at a regional insurer opened a platform-consultant process, had no following that would instruct, and the file closed without a hire on that candidate in 8 weeks. A general counsel at a listed industrial took three firm conversations that asked for originations; none reached an offer, and the 12-working-day acceptance clock never started. The first was a return. The second was the origination gate working as advertised. The third was folklore meeting a following test and losing.
A senior legal counsel at a London-headquartered bank, inside the same 228-person in-house cut of the London interview cohort, described the first-round filter as a request for a matter list with hours, not a board-paper list. That is the practical test legal recruiters run on this product, and it is why a CV written as a corporate governance narrative dies in the first hour. Keep the independence work — the SRA is not joking about it. Translate it into files a practice group can staff. If you cannot, you are testing door four, and door four is a non-door this year.
The company is the clientYou originate the client
- Employer as client Advice serves the organization. Reserved work stays inside the group. Compulsory SRA PII does not apply.
- Public clients, billable matters Code paragraphs on client care bite. Conflicts and an authorized body’s PII arrive. The unit of work is a file.
- Origination-gated senior seat A following, or a realistic path to one. Title without origination does not price. This is the senior door that actually moves volume.
Lockstep associate
A mid-PQE legal counsel whose last files look like chargeable matters. The firm tests a 24-to-36-month matter list, not a board pack. This is not a general counsel landing.
US-firm London counsel
The same technical depth, plus a file shape a New York or Delaware desk would recognize. Headcount growth is public; the seat is still not advertised as ex in-house.
Platform consultant
A senior in-house lawyer with contacts who can originate. Remuneration follows origination and delivery, not a lockstep. The gate is a following, stated as such.
Not this year
A governance-only general counsel or head of legal with no specialist file and no following. The title is real. The return product is not.
| Door | Who it fits | What is tested | What it is not |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lockstep associate | Mid-PQE legal counsel with chargeable-shaped files | 24-to-36-month matter list, hours, opposing counsel | A general counsel landing or a title restoration |
| US-firm London counsel | Same depth plus a transatlantic file shape | English-law technicals a US desk will staff | A newly qualified lockstep product |
| Platform consultant | Senior in-house lawyer who can originate | A following, or a realistic path to one | A salary; a head of legal without contacts |
| Not this year | Governance-only general counsel or head of legal | Nothing a lockstep desk can open as a file | Stigma. It is a product mismatch. |
If you are in-house counsel or senior legal counsel, the realistic return is an associate or counsel seat on a named practice, not a restored title.
- Restate the last 24 months as matters. Hours, counterparties, the document you could still open. A board-paper catalogue is the wrong artefact.
- Map onto a live instrument. UKLR, failure-to-prevent, motor finance, SMS designations, NSI notifications, employment commencement — pick the statute your files already touch.
- Do not pitch Magic Circle newly qualified pay as your landing. That print is a trainee product. Your comparison is the associate band for the practice you can actually staff.
- Expect the company to counter. The associate-line counter-offer incidence is the retention reflex you will meet. Decide before the offer whether you will take it.
If you are a general counsel, chief legal officer or head of legal, the lockstep associate door is usually the wrong door.
- Name the following, or stop. Platform consultant seats state the gate in writing. A board seat is not origination.
- Treat counsel and non-equity conversations as the firm product they are. Equity restoration is not the base rate of this move.
- Independence friction is a reason to leave, not a credential a practice group can bill. Translate Post Office-era ethics work into investigations files, or stay.
- SMCR legal-function status is not a handcuff. SYSC 26.4 still lets the legal function sit outside SMF. Leaving a bank head-of-legal seat does not require dropping a prescribed function.
Common questions about returning from in-house
Can in house counsel return to a London firm after five years in-house?
Yes, and the door is narrow: 4 of Sartori’s 33 closed London associate files over three years appointed a lawyer whose last employer was a company legal team. Nobody publishes an annual census of returns. Lockstep desks test a chargeable matter list covering the last 24 to 36 months, not a board pack. Origination-gated platform seats are the measured high-volume senior channel. Treat a total ban as unmeasured folklore, not a regulator’s rule.
How many in-house lawyers return to private practice in a year?
Nobody publishes an annual return count; the dated stock is 35,738 in-house solicitors as of July 2023 (Law Society Annual Statistics Report 2023, published 23 January 2025). The Solicitors Regulation Authority’s population table records 178,428 practising solicitors as of July 2026 and does not split origin-destination flows. Folklore fills the gap a mobility matrix would have closed. Our outbound General Counsel guide owns the other direction.
Does a general counsel need a following to rejoin a firm?
For senior consultant seats, yes: Keystone Law recorded 42 London laterals in the year to July 2026 (Pirical, 25 August 2026) and states a client following, or a realistic expectation of generating one, as the gate. A lockstep associate seat tests technical depth on a matter list instead. A general counsel or chief legal officer whose last five years were board work, Companies Act advice and panel management usually fails the origination gate and is not an associate product. Ask which door you are actually knocking on before you rewrite the CV.
What do legal recruiters actually test on a return file?
They test a 24-to-36-month chargeable matter list; 7 of 11 shortlists that included a returner appointed a firm-to-firm lawyer instead. That cut sits inside Sartori’s 33 closed London associate files over three years. Hours, opposing counsel, and a document you could still open beat a board-paper catalogue. Independence work after the SRA’s 18 November 2024 in-house guidance is real; it is not a substitute for a file a practice group can staff.
Is Magic Circle newly qualified pay the right comparison for a returning head of legal?
Incomes Data Research’s 2025 survey put London heads of legal near £150,000 at the median — the Magic Circle newly qualified base as of May–September 2024. Clifford Chance reported PEP of £2.11 million for the year ended 30 April 2025. A return at head-of-legal seniority is not a return to profit share. Compare the seat you would actually occupy. Our private-practice versus in-house salary guide sets the two payrolls side by side.
Does leaving a Government Legal Department seat change practising-certificate rules?
Yes. Section 88 of the Solicitors Act 1974 exempts the solicitor to the Treasury and other public departments; joining a firm triggers section 1A. The Government Legal Department advertised 60 trainee solicitor positions in its 2024 Legal Trainee Scheme campaign. Those seats are inbound in-house training, not return seats at firms. The Code of Conduct made 16 December 2024 is workplace-neutral; public-client information rules bite the moment the employer serves the public.
The stock, the seats, the instruments, and the research program.
Employment-type stocks come from the Law Society and the SRA. London seat maps come from Pirical. Pay sits on IDR against firm-reported newly qualified bases. Instruments are the in-force dates. Return conversions are Sartori mandate telemetry.

Sartori figures are London associate-line telemetry and the London interview cohort. Public stocks and shares are employment-type censuses, not origin-destination flows. In-house percentage headlines of 25 percent (TheCityUK, 9 December 2025) and 26 percent (Law Gazette training feature) are later or differently defined and are not blended with the July 2023 Law Society stock.
There is no official annual count of in-house solicitors who join a law firm in England and Wales or in London. This article does not invent one. The 22 percent in-house share is the Law Society Annual Statistics Report 2023 figure as of July 2023. TheCityUK’s 9 December 2025 25 percent line and the Law Gazette 26 percent line are labelled as later or differently defined headlines. Keystone Law appears as a Pirical ranking label and as an employer-own description of an origination-gated platform, not as a case study. Composite engagements are anonymized and numbered inside the 33-file envelope.

From Law Firm to General Counsel: What Really Changes
The outbound move this page does not retell — scope, influence, and why the GC seat is a different job rather than a promotion on the same ladder.

Need a candid read on whether a door is real — or folklore?
We help in-house counsel, general counsel and heads of legal test a London return against a matter list and a following, and we help companies hold the people they cannot afford to lose. Quiet, evidence-led, and just as willing to say stay as to run a process.
