Baker McKenzie Salary 2026: Local Office, US or London

On 7 September 2026 the firm's own Chicago-covering junior employment posting still printed $225,000 to $235,000. London NQ moved to £150,000 on 1 July. A general counsel matching this verein has to name the office before naming the cash.

A Baker McKenzie salary in Chicago in 2026 still prints $225,000 to $235,000 for a junior employment associate on the firm's 7 September 2026 posting covering Illinois, New York and California. Sartori's Chicago interview cohort (325 structured interviews) is the research base behind that read.

Lens 01 · The US careers print Chicago still posts the 2023 lockstep.

The 7 September 2026 junior Global Employment and Labor posting covering California, Illinois and New York states expected annual base of $225,000 to $235,000. That band sits on years one and two of the 29 November 2023 memo, not on Milbank’s 2026 first-year of $235,000. A 2026 posting. A 2023 ladder.

A general counsel who copies the 2026 market floor onto a Baker print that has not moved, or a London NQ onto a Frankfurt employment seat, is not matching this firm. They are mixing offices. The dated comparison is below.

When a Baker McKenzie salary is the local-office table

The verein pays US associates on a lockstep, London NQs on a Magic Circle print, and German associates on a published euro ladder. A general counsel matching the wrong office is not close. They are on a different instrument.

US lockstep still on careers adsLocal, euro, or unpublished

  1. US lockstep Associates paid by class year in dollars. The last memo is November 2023. Illinois, New York and California posting rules put that ladder on the 2026 careers site.
  2. London NQ / trainee Sterling newly qualified and trainee steps, reset on 1 July 2026, with a 1,400-hour target and a two-year training contract underneath. Qualifying work experience, not a J.D. class year.
  3. Local office Germany publishes a partner-track and an alternative track in euros. Australia’s early-careers page offers market-leading financial benefits and no dollar figure. Hong Kong NQ was not on a firm table.
Public Baker McKenzie cash a general counsel can cite in September 2026, by office. US junior and senior bands are employer careers postings from August and September 2026. Australia graduate Not published Early Careers page accessed 11 September 2026 A dollar scale — omitted here, not guessed

Chicago still prints 2023. London already prints Magic Circle. Those are not the same bid. The US weekly summer rate is not on the Summer Associate Program page; NALP’s 2025 701+ firm summer weekly median of $4,100 is market context, not Baker’s rate, and is not used as one.

The local-office bid is the right bid when the lawyer sits outside the US lockstep and outside the London NQ. LTO’s employer profile, accessed 11 September 2026, puts German hiring at 70–80 fully qualified lawyers a year, plus 5–10 Wirtschaftsjuristen without Staatsexamen and about 85 Referendare, across Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, with more than 200 lawyers nationally. Referendare are paid €1,000 per working day of the week, capped at €5,000 a month; Praktikanten €600 a month, both on the Gehalt page. A general counsel in Frankfurt matching this firm is matching that euro ladder. They are not matching £150,000 and they are not matching $225,000.

Australia is the clean unpublished case. The Early Careers page, accessed 11 September 2026, describes a Melbourne seasonal clerkship window of 6 July–9 August 2026, a three-rotation graduate program, and financial support for Practical Legal Training — and it does not print a dollar figure. A blank is not a license to import London cash. Hong Kong NQ was not on a Baker table among the pages; it is omitted for the same reason.

Baker McKenzie associate salary: the 2023 memo and the 2026 ads

Above the Law published the last confirmed US class-year memo on 29 November 2023. Illinois, New York and California posting statutes are why those rungs are still on the careers site in August and September 2026.

The memo matched the then-new Cravath scale, paid from 9 February, retroactive to 1 January 2024: class of 2024 and class of 2023 at $225,000; 2022 at $235,000; 2021 at $260,000; 2020 at $310,000; 2019 at $365,000; 2018 at $390,000; 2017 at $420,000; 2016 and senior at $435,000. Year-end bonuses for eligible associates ran class of 2022 $20,000; 2021 $30,000; 2020 $57,500; 2019 $75,000; 2018 $90,000; 2017 $105,000; 2016 and senior $115,000, plus a premium bonus for those who had materially exceeded billables. That is a US associate instrument. It is not a 2026 confirmation.

The 2026 careers ads sit on those rungs because they have to. California SB 1162 (Chapter 559, approved 27 September 2022) requires employers with 15 or more employees to include the pay scale in a posting. New York Labor Law §194-b, as described in DOL P687 as of 17 September 2023, requires a good-faith minimum and maximum for private employers with four or more employees, including work performed at least in part in New York. Illinois Equal Pay Act 820 ILCS 112/10, as amended by P.A. 103-539, took effect 1 January 2025 for employers with 15 or more employees posting Illinois work or roles reporting to an Illinois supervisor. Baker’s Chicago hub and its New York and California offices are in scope. That is why a general counsel can now read a dated public range without a leaked memo.

Click a column header to re-rank.
Class year Seniority on the 2023 memo Base Year-end bonus
Class of 2024 First-year on the 2023 memo $225,000 $20,000*

Class of 2022 Third-year $235,000 $20,000

Class of 2020 Fifth-year $310,000 $57,500
Class of 2019 Sixth-year $365,000 $75,000
Class of 2018 Seventh-year $390,000 $90,000
Class of 2017 Seventh/eighth-year $420,000 $105,000
Class of 2016+ Senior associate $435,000 $115,000

*The published bonus table begins at class of 2022. Do not write a 2024 or 2023 year-end as if it appeared on that memo. The eight-rung 2026 market scale is documented on the sibling BigLaw page; this table is this firm’s last confirmed US instrument.

US advertised ceilings on Baker McKenzie associate postings dated August–September 2026. These are statutory pay-transparency ranges on the employer's own careers site, not a new class-year memo.

Baker McKenzie careers postings: junior employment 7 September 2026; mid-level labor, tax and disputes 11–24 August 2026; IP patent 17 August 2026.

The mid-level cluster is the 2026 hiring signal. A 24 August 2026 labor-and-employment litigation seat asked for 3–5 years, California or Illinois bar, and treated a federal clerkship as a plus, at $260,000–$365,000. An 11 August 2026 private-capital tax seat in Miami or New York asked for the same years on FIRPTA, REITs, fund formation and carried interest, at $260,000–$365,000 in New York. A 17 August 2026 California disputes seat asked for securities, SEC enforcement and class actions at the same band. The patent seat wants an engineering degree and the Texas bar. Those are years 3–8 on the 2023 memo. They are not a first-year factory.

The US Summer Associate Program page, accessed 11 September 2026, still recruits 2Ls from ABA-accredited law schools and prints a $50,000 Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Legal Fellowship for selected 2L summer hires. That cash extra is public. The weekly summer rate is not. Client Summer Scholars spend two to four weeks after the program onsite with a client, paid the Baker McKenzie summer associate salary — again without a weekly figure on the page.

04 The sterling print

Baker McKenzie NQ salary is Magic Circle cash, not a US lockstep

London newly qualified base is £150,000 from 1 July 2026. Trainees did not move. The residual 33 percent of the training-contract class is the pool a UK general counsel actually bids for.

Legal Cheek, on 21 July 2026, reported the step from £145,000 to £150,000, a 3.4 percent uplift from the beginning of July, matching A&O Shearman, Clifford Chance, Freshfields, Linklaters and Slaughter and May. Non-Billable, on 20 July 2026, recorded the same £5,000 step, effective 1 July, and left first-year trainees at £56,000 and second-year at £61,000. Law360 UK, on 20 July 2026, printed $201,378 as a conversion. That conversion sits below the US junior floor of $225,000. A head of legal who treats “the firm pays first-years $225,000” as the London NQ match is reading the Chicago column.

The pipeline is still a training contract inside the firm. The Direct Training Contract page, accessed 11 September 2026, describes two years and four six-month seats, including a contentious seat and a transactional or corporate seat, in the City, with applications 1 February–1 April 2026, a 2:1 or on-track (contextual recruitment), and more than half of trainees from a non-law background. The Solicitors Regulation Authority, in August 2025 materials, still requires SQE1, SQE2, two years’ qualifying work experience and suitability. The firm does not require the PGDL; it funds BARBRI prep. Legal Cheek’s card lists SQE grants of £16,000 for law graduates and £17,000 for non-law.

London trainee and newly qualified base at Baker McKenzie after 1 July 2026. The NQ step moved. The trainee steps did not. These are sterling instruments, not a US class-year grid.

Legal Cheek, 21 July 2026; Non-Billable, 20 July 2026; Legal Cheek firm card accessed 11 September 2026.

Legal Cheek’s firm card, accessed 11 September 2026, lists an annual target of 1,400 hours, 25 days’ annual leave, 40 training contracts, and a latest trainee retention rate of 67 percent. That retention figure is the NQ conversion into Baker’s own associate ranks. The residual 33 percent is the pool UK general counsel and other firms bid for. Client secondment chance is 19 percent and overseas secondment 24 percent on the same Trainee and Junior Lawyer Survey 2026-27 card. The default 2026 Baker NQ still sits inside the firm. The in-house desk is a buyer and a temporary host, not the graduate scheme.

A quotable fact: London NQ at this firm is Magic Circle base as of 1 July 2026, and it is not a US lockstep.

05 Earners and buyers

The associate on the print, and the general counsel who has to match it.

The people who earn these prints sit in Baker McKenzie practice groups. The general counsel, chief legal officer or head of HR who must put one of them on a company payroll is buying a lateral off a named office scale, not a global rate.

US J.D. and state barLocal qualification gate

  1. US associate J.D., office-state bar, transcripts. Federal clerkship preferred on disputes and employment-litigation seats. Engineering degree essential on the patent seat.
  2. England and Wales NQ SQE1 and SQE2, two years’ qualifying work experience, suitability. The firm dropped the PGDL. Overseas-qualified laterals can join as associates while sitting SQE.
  3. German associate Two Prädikatsexamen on the partner track, fluent English, Promotion or LL.M. welcome. Alternative track exists for lower hours and less business development.

The 2026 ads are mid-level tax, employment, disputes and patent seats, not a confirmed $235,000 first-year memo.

  • The US employer is the verein. The US locations page, accessed 11 September 2026, states more than 600 lawyers in the United States, with more than 100 in each of New York, Texas, Chicago, California and Washington, DC, plus Miami and a Tampa Center. North America is organized into five practice groups on the summer-program copy.
  • London is still the largest office. Chambers UK 2026, firm-supplied, describes more than 500 lawyers advising banking and finance, M&A, tax, competition, dispute resolution, employment, technology and intellectual property. Band 1 London Employment: Employer and Information Technology & Outsourcing; Band 1 UK-wide Sanctions; Band 3 Corporate/M&A at £800 million and above, Intellectual Property, and Tax, with more than 70 London tax fee-earners.
  • The nonequity title is on the payroll. The New York National Partner posting of 13 August 2026 requires a J.D. or foreign law degree or LL.M., five years at a global firm on cross-border carve-outs, spin-offs and integrations, and the New York bar. It is not a general counsel seat and it is not equity.

The company payroll is the second buyer of this talent, and it almost never takes a newly qualified solicitor off the training-contract list at the firm’s cash.

  • The invoice names the later employer. The Customs & Excise page, accessed 11 September 2026, describes FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 multinationals as the customs client base, with over 140 customs-focused lawyers across 74 offices in 45 countries, and a UK Government post-Brexit trade-panel seat from January 2021. Chambers UK 2026 Sanctions (Band 1) names FTSE 100 and Fortune 100 corporates across energy, aerospace and defense, chemicals, banking, insurance, IT and telecoms, consumer goods and pharmaceutical.
  • The last published deal quarter shows the mix. Deal Digest, 3 September 2026, covering June–August 2026, includes a US conglomerate, a parcel-and-logistics carve-out, a Japanese chemicals inbound, a UK-led industrial acquisition, a NASDAQ semiconductor combination, a PE software carve-out, a UK nutraceutical sale to a global PE house, and a Hong Kong placing. Those general counsel sit on the invoice first and hire off it later.
  • A single tech deal maps the desks a GC actually buys. A 22 September 2025 newsroom item on a $1 billion NASDAQ software acquisition staffed corporate in Palo Alto and Los Angeles plus tax, antitrust, trade, employment, data and cybersecurity and IP. The firm’s own “more than 2,500 deal practitioners” line is marketing; the staffing mix is the product. The Tech M&A page’s claim that the firm covers 92 percent of Fortune 500 technology companies is the same kind of firm-supplied coverage figure, not a census.
  • Secondment is how an NQ sees the GC desk. Every London trainee may apply for a three-to-six-month secondment at an international office or with a client in-house team. Legal Cheek names the host types: a FTSE consumer-goods multinational, a global bank, a UK national newspaper, a large-cap social-media platform, a humanitarian NGO, a judicial assistantship at the Royal Courts of Justice, and a US technology campus. US Client Scholars spend two to four weeks in places such as Memphis, Cupertino, Naperville and Mountain View. That is a tour, not a payroll transfer.

Chambers Europe 2026, announced on the firm newsroom on 20 March 2026, recorded 154 practice and sector rankings and 232 individual rankings, with Band 1 Europe-wide in Employment, Tax, TMT: Information Technology, Media and Telecommunications, and an inaugural Europe-wide International Trade: Export Controls & Economic Sanctions Band 1. A general counsel matching “Baker pay” for tax or employment in London is matching that franchise. They are not matching a New York PEP.

06 What funds the cash

Baker McKenzie PEP is a 2024 average, not a 2026 paycheck

Legal Business, on 17 December 2025, put FY2024 profits per equity partner at $2.100 million on 601 equity partners. That is capacity. It is not the number on a National Partner offer letter, and it is not a 2026 US class-year memo.

The same Legal Business Global 100 2025 row prints revenue of $3,400 million (+3.4 percent), revenue per lawyer of $740,000, profit per lawyer of $283,000, a 38 percent margin, 4,594.6 lawyers, 1,432 total partners and 601 equity partners. The 2026 Am Law 100, as recapped by Above the Law on 15 April 2026, then puts 2025 gross revenue at $3.640 billion, rank 8, up 7.24 percent, behind Ropes & Gray and ahead of White & Case. Baker does not appear in ATL’s published 2026 PEP top 10; tenth on that list is Milbank at $7.620 million. A 2026 Am Law Baker PEP, RPL or equity-partner count was not on the pages. Legal Cheek’s later firm-card PEP of around $2.4 million is a mixed compilation; it is not used here.

Headcount is a band, not a census. Legal Business’s 4,594.6 lawyers sit next to a 16 June 2025 newsroom item quoting more than 70 offices and 4,500 lawyers, and a global disputes practice of more than 1,000 disputes lawyers. Firm-owned pages use a wider count: the US Summer Associate Program and the 9 June 2025 leadership announcement speak of 13,000 people, including over 6,500 lawyers and tax professionals, in more than 70 offices. Do not collapse those two. ALM-style attorney counts and the firm’s lawyers-and-tax-professionals count are different instruments.

The incoming Global Chair, elected 9 June 2025 for a four-year term from October 2025, is a London-based international trade, compliance and investigations partner. Firm copy frames the next term around cross-border complexity and the trade and tariff wars, and recalls that global annual revenue passed $3 billion for the first time in 2021. February 2026’s business-services review is the cost response: RollOnFriday and Legal Business, both 6 February 2026, described a cut of up to a tenth of worldwide support; Law.com International’s lede the same day put more than 7,000 business-services staff across 70 offices and said cuts were unlikely to exceed 740, against 4,595 lawyers on Law.com Compass. The announced target is staff. It is not an associate headcount cut on the public record. Baker & McKenzie LLP (Companies House OC311297) filed group accounts for the year to 30 June 2025 on 10 April 2026; turnover and highest-paid-member profit from that PDF are not extracted here.

US advertised Baker McKenzie cash a general counsel can put on one axis in September 2026. The highlighted band runs from the junior employment floor to the mid-level ceiling on the August–September ads. Click a marker for the source. PEP is a different instrument and is not plotted.

Company bids stall when the first offer names the wrong office.

Sartori has worked the Chicago associate market for 8 years. The closed-search book on this line is 26 files over three years. The slow completions were in-house mandates, not firm-side associate laterals.

Statute in forcePay table that moved

  1. Outbound investment on Treasury’s outbound-investment rule took effect in January 2025. Mid-level private-capital tax and trade seats sit on that pipeline through 2026.
  2. UK fraud offence live The failure-to-prevent-fraud offence came into force in September 2025. London investigations and employment desks sell the first-enforcement year to general counsel.
  3. Two pay calendars Milbank moved the US market scale in June 2026. This firm matched Magic Circle NQ on 1 July. The US careers site still prints the 2023 lockstep.
  4. COINS rulemaking The FY2026 NDAA codified and expanded outbound-investment rules in December 2025. Treasury has until March 2027 to write the implementing regulations. Trade and tax desks stay staffed while that clock runs.

CRS In Focus IF12629, updated 26 March 2026, and Baker’s own foreign-investment alert of 19 January 2026, date the Outbound Investment Security Program (EO 14105; 31 C.F.R. Part 850) to 2 January 2025. The Comprehensive Outbound Investment National Security Act, Title LXXXV of the FY2026 NDAA signed 18 December 2025, keeps that program in force until Treasury issues implementing regulations within 450 days — March 2027. Home Office, on 1 September 2025, brought the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 failure-to-prevent-fraud offence into force for large organizations. Treasury’s 28 June 2025 G7 statement and the OECD Inclusive Framework Side-by-Side Package, approved 5 January 2026, shift 2026 tax demand from a UTPR defense to qualifying a safe harbor and running a QDMTT. Those statutes do not print a salary. They explain why the live US ads are mid-level tax, trade, employment and disputes, and why a first-year memo is not the 2026 hiring story.

Thomson Reuters Institute’s 2026 Report on the State of the US Legal Market, published January 2026, attributed 2025 demand to tariffs and geoeconomic shock, with transactional practices and labor-and-employment both elevated, and put direct spending on lawyer compensation up 8.2 percent versus 2024, per-lawyer associate spend up 3.8 percent, and lawyer FTE up 2.9 percent. Above the Law, on 27 May 2026, covering a Firm Prospects five-year paper, reported that the law-student share of associate hiring fell to 37.5 percent in 2025, from 43.8 percent in 2021. Baker’s August 2026 US ads asking 3–5 years are the 2026 expression of that shift.

Of those 26 closed Chicago associate searches over three years, 11 were company-side seats — in-house Attorney through Associate General Counsel — matching talent off a Baker print, and 15 were law-firm associate laterals. Four of the 11 company-side files required a rewritten first offer after the candidate produced an office the compensation committee had not budgeted: a 2026 Milbank $235,000 floor against a Baker junior whose last documented print was the 2023 lockstep, or a London NQ against a Frankfurt employment grade. Five of the 26 ran to the 12-week end of our typical timeline; all five were company-side seats whose boards had locked a single global number and would not reopen it when the office table disagreed. The uncomfortable read is ours: the shortlist arrives on time. The first cash line often does not, because we underwrite the published table and the buyer underwrites last year’s grade.

Chicago associate counter-offer incidence on this line is 35 percent. Sartori’s Chicago associate mandate telemetry records a median of 11 working days from offer to acceptance. Typical time-to-fill is 6 to 12 weeks. Completion on the book is 93 percent. A head of HR who spends the better part of that acceptance window aligning an internal band after the letter is out is already inside a clock the candidate does not hold open.

Sartori maps approximately 13,000 lawyers in Chicago. Coverage there is employer, seniority and practice. The file does not record which lockstep, NQ print or euro track a given lawyer is paid on; that lives in a memo and a payroll run. Quarterly surveys have run since 2019. Nearly 1.5 million lawyer profiles sit behind the global program. Price the offer from the last dated office print. Use the map to find who holds it.

Across 82 in-house general counsel and heads of legal inside that Chicago cohort, over a 24-month window, 58 named the office of the seat — Chicago versus London versus Frankfurt — as the first compensation question, not the class year. That 58-of-82 cut sits inside the same cohort. A general counsel at a Chicago-headquartered Fortune 500 industrial told us her compensation committee would not approve a New York lockstep for a Frankfurt employment lawyer and closed instead on the German partner-track print. A head of legal at a PE-backed software platform with a Chicago tax department said the $260,000–$365,000 private-capital tax band on the 11 August 2026 posting was the number he could defend to his CFO, not PEP.

One composite from the Chicago associate book. A US-headquartered public-company legal department opened an Associate General Counsel, employment seat for a junior coming off this firm’s Chicago-covering posting. The first offer tracked an internal grade built as if the 2026 market floor were Baker’s. The candidate produced the 7 September 2026 $225,000–$235,000 print. The compensation committee took three weeks to reopen the band. The search later closed, on a rewritten cash line, inside the 6-to-12-week window. Time was lost on the grade, not on the shortlist.

A second composite. A PE-backed technology platform opened a Senior Attorney, tax seat for a mid-level coming off the New York private-capital posting. The first band was built from an internal grade. The candidate’s current base sat inside $260,000–$365,000. The company matched the floor, kept the bonus discretionary, and closed in the ninth week. The general counsel who ran it treated the posted band as the floor and the title as the variable. That is the only arithmetic that has worked on this book.

Company-side searches of this kind are the in-house and general counsel recruiting mandate. Firm-side associate laterals sit on associate and attorney recruiting. If the question is the national eight-rung lockstep rather than this verein, use the 2026 BigLaw associate salary scale. A company standing up a legal function rather than filling one seat should start with hiring your first general counsel. Once the Baker print is named, in-house cash as a market is the 2026 in-house counsel salary benchmark.

Baker McKenzie pay: questions from both sides of the offer

What is the Baker McKenzie salary in 2026?

There is no single figure: US careers still print $225,000–$435,000, and London NQ is £150,000 from 1 July 2026. The firm’s 7 September 2026 junior employment posting covering California, Illinois and New York states expected base of $225,000 to $235,000; a 17 August 2026 Texas patent posting states $310,000–$435,000. Legal Cheek, on 21 July 2026, dated the London newly qualified step. German partner-track base, on the firm’s own Gehalt page accessed 11 September 2026, caps at €185,000 from year five. A 2026 US class-year memo for this firm has not been published.

What is Baker McKenzie associate salary on the last confirmed US scale?

Above the Law, on 29 November 2023, published the firm memo matching the then-Cravath lockstep: $225,000 for the classes of 2024 and 2023, through $435,000 for 2016 and senior, paid from 9 February and retroactive to 1 January 2024. Year-end bonuses on that memo ran from $20,000 (class of 2022) to $115,000 (2016 and senior). August–September 2026 careers ads still sit on those rungs. They are not a confirmation that the 2026 Milbank floor has been matched.

What is Baker McKenzie NQ salary in London in 2026?

London newly qualified base is £150,000 from 1 July 2026, a 3.4 percent step from £145,000, Legal Cheek reported on 21 July 2026. Non-Billable, on 20 July 2026, kept first-year trainees at £56,000 and second-year at £61,000. Law360 UK, on 20 July 2026, printed $201,378 as a conversion of the NQ print — a conversion, not a US payroll number. Legal Cheek’s firm card lists a 1,400-hour target and 40 training contracts.

What is Baker McKenzie PEP, and is it the partner paycheck?

The last fully tabled Baker McKenzie PEP is $2.100 million on 601 equity partners, in Legal Business Global 100 2025, published 17 December 2025. That row also prints revenue per lawyer of $740,000 and a 38 percent margin. The 2026 Am Law 100, as recapped by Above the Law on 15 April 2026, ranks the verein eighth by gross revenue at $3.640 billion and does not place Baker in the published PEP top 10. PEP is an average for equity owners, not the W-2 on a New York national-partner posting of $274,248–$480,000 dated 13 August 2026.

Did Baker McKenzie match the 2026 Milbank US associate scale?

No public match is on the record. Milbank moved the market to $235,000–$455,000 on 2 June 2026, effective 1 July, as Above the Law reported that day. The Associate Compensation Scorecard first published 5 June 2026, with table contents through at least 31 August 2026, does not list Baker McKenzie. A general counsel who writes $235,000 as this firm’s 2026 first-year is matching Milbank peers, not a Baker memo.

How should a general counsel match a Baker McKenzie lawyer in-house?

Name the office first: a Chicago or New York junior still prints $225,000–$235,000; a London NQ is £150,000; a German partner-track year-five base tops out at €185,000. Copy the dated print the candidate is leaving, then decide whether title and reporting line are the variables. Sartori’s Chicago associate desk closed 26 searches over three years at a 93 percent completion rate; the files that ran to 12 weeks were company bids written to the wrong table.

08 The sources

Careers ads, Legal Cheek, Am Law, and the 2026 US memo that still will not print.

US dollars come from the 29 November 2023 memo as published by Above the Law and from the firm's own August–September 2026 careers postings. London NQ comes from Legal Cheek, Non-Billable and Law360 UK in July 2026. PEP and revenue come from Legal Business and the 2026 Am Law 100. Germany is the Gehalt page, dated by azur.

Sartori figures are the Chicago associate interview cohort, mandate telemetry on 26 closed searches over three years, and the company-side reads drawn from that book. Public compensation tables are firm memos, employer careers pages, Legal Cheek, Non-Billable, Law360 UK, azur, LTO and Legal Business. No 2026 US class-year base for this firm is used, because none was published on the pages. The eight-rung matching ladder after 1 July 2026 is documented on the sibling BigLaw scale page; this page cites only that Baker McKenzie is absent from the matcher table through 31 August 2026.

Compensation data is general information, not financial, career or legal advice. Actual pay varies by office, class year, hours eligibility, rating, equity and bonus discretion. Figures effective as dated in the prose. The next dated memo can reset one office without the query changing its name.

A quiet conversation

Matching this firm on an in-house offer?

We price the office the candidate is leaving — Chicago lockstep, London NQ, or German local — and we will say when a grade cannot clear the dated print. Confidential, no obligation, for general counsel, chief legal officers and heads of HR.
