Illinois Lawyer Pay 2026: The Statewide Table the Loop Column Hides
The 2026 Illinois table a general counsel matching this state needs starts at $160,800, the May 2025 statewide employed-lawyer median. Treating that lawyer as a Chicago lockstep seat is the discard this page is written against.
The dated number is not a Loop first-year, and Peoria is not a discount.
Illinois employed lawyers posted a median of $160,800 in the Bureau of Labor Statistics May 2025 wage estimates, published through O*NET. That dated number is the 2026 lawyer salary Illinois companies misread when they copy a Chicago lockstep first-year and discard the rest of the state.
Sartori maps about 13,000 lawyers in Chicago. The file is how this desk sees coverage, not how the Bureau of Labor Statistics prices a wage. Quarterly surveys have run since 2019 across a global map of nearly 1.5 million lawyer profiles. Two readers share the opening fact: the general counsel or chief legal officer who has to put a lawyer on an Illinois payroll, and the lawyer who will earn the 2026 figure. Illinois is not one Chicago lockstep seat.
| Layer | Figure | As of | What it measures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Illinois employed-lawyer median | $160,800 | May 2025 | All employed lawyers, SOC 23-1011 — firm, in-house, government |
| Chicago-Naperville-Elgin median | $165,660 | May 2025 | Employed lawyers in the Chicago MSA, same survey — $4,860 above the state, not a different country |
| Peoria median | $161,150 | May 2025 | Inside Chicago's occupation band — downstate is not a single discount Loop |
| Milbank first-year base (incomplete match) | $235,000 | 1 July 2026 | Announced 2 June 2026; Cravath had not matched as of 26 August 2026 — not Illinois payroll |
Chicago-Naperville-Elgin’s May 2025 median of $165,660 sits $4,860 above the statewide median and $4,510 above Peoria’s $161,150. A head of legal who treats “Chicago” as a lockstep island and “Illinois” as a discount on that island is reading two cells the occupation file does not support. On the same O*NET table, the contemporaneous national lawyer median is $159,670. Illinois sits $1,130 above that national marker, not below it. The discard of Springfield, Champaign, Rockford and the public desk is the error; the Loop column is the distraction.
NALP’s 2025 Associate Salary Survey, as of 1 January 2025, found 42.9 percent of 14 Chicago offices at the then-$225,000 first-year figure. Chicago is not on the six-city list where that figure had already become the median. Fourteen offices is enough to publish and too thin to treat as Illinois. A city share from 14 offices is not a state rate.
Four lenses on one misread: the 2026 figure is not a 14-office Chicago cell, not a first-job median, not the Midwest mode, and not a license you can carry in without a clock. Every public figure is cited below.

The lawyer salary Illinois table the occupation file actually publishes.
Before a general counsel sets a 2026 number, the file has to say which published layer the number is answering. Mixing them is how a Loop offer reads as market to the board and below-market to the candidate — or the reverse, in Springfield.
The O*NET republication of May 2025 Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics puts Illinois lawyers at a 10th percentile of $82,160, a 25th of $103,020, a 75th of $224,450 and a 90th of $330,200. Those percentiles describe employed lawyers across firm, in-house and government. They will never equal a first-year lockstep, and they will never equal a first-job graduate median. A head of legal who averages them is inventing a fifth layer. The statewide median on that table already sat $1,130 above the contemporaneous national median of $159,670. Illinois is not a cheap national suburb. It is a state whose middle is Loop-adjacent and whose tails are not.

Decatur’s May 2025 lawyer median was $100,790 on the same BLS table. Copying last year’s $225,000 mode onto that metro is not a retention strategy. It is a category error. Source: O*NET, BLS 2025 wage data.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook page, last read on 11 September 2026, still carried a May 2024 national lawyer median of $151,160, with 864,800 lawyers employed in 2024 and about 31,500 openings a year projected for 2024 through 2034. That Handbook vintage is the prior national scale. It is not the 2025 O*NET national median used above, and it is not an Illinois requisition.
Peoria sits inside Chicago's band. Downstate is not a discount Loop.
Three payers, three scales, one registration roll.
The 2026 figure is paid by three buyer classes that do not share a scale: Chicago Am Law offices and the national firms planting desks beside them, in-house legal departments at Illinois headquarters, and public desks. A general counsel who budgets as if every Illinois lawyer sits in a Loop lockstep cell will overpay the median seat.
Appropriated public scaleNational firm print
- Public desks Attorney General sections, Cook County prosecutors and defenders, AUSAs, IEPA Technical Advisors, ARDC Intake Counsel. Posted and appropriated bands. Illinois license.
- In-house at Illinois HQs General counsel, chief legal officer, deputy GC, lead counsel. Company band, too often copied from a Loop first-year. License or Rule 716.
- Chicago Am Law and incoming national offices Associate and counsel on private equity, funds, M&A, energy and products. A national or office scale that NALP showed was not a Chicago median.
The Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission’s 2025 Master Roll counted 96,997 registered lawyers, 85,068 of them Active, with 65,608 holding a principal business address in Illinois. Of those in-state lawyers, 57,388 sat in the six-county Chicago metro and 47,089 in Cook County; 8,220 sat in the other 96 counties. That is a registration census, not the 33,590 wage-and-salary jobs on the IDES file. Of 49,667 private-practice lawyers, 30.7 percent already sat in firms of 100 or more — the largest private-practice segment, up from 26.0 percent in 2020 — while solo practice was 24.3 percent and firms of two to ten lawyers were 23.1 percent. The lockstep story discards a state whose largest private-practice cell is already the large firm, and whose in-house and government slices together are larger than that 100-plus cell. Trust-account disclosures recorded 26,456 lawyers reporting no trust account because of full-time employment in a corporation or governmental agency with no outside practice.
Illinois DCEO’s 2026 headquarters list puts 29 Fortune 500 companies in the state. State Farm sits in Bloomington; Deere in Moline; Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park; AbbVie in North Chicago; Allstate in Northbrook; Archer Daniels Midland, United Airlines, Mondelez, McDonald’s, Exelon, Northern Trust and Conagra in Chicago; Motorola Solutions in Chicago; Baxter in Deerfield. Those legal departments — a Bloomington insurer, a Moline equipment manufacturer, two North Shore healthcare companies, a utility holding company, a Chicago exchange-adjacent bank — are who pays in-house cash in this state. Exelon’s own page describes almost 11 million customers and more than 20,000 employees across six transmission-and-distribution utilities including ComEd. Northern Trust reported more than 23,000 employees and $1.8 trillion in assets under management as of 31 March 2026. Those headcounts are not lawyer counts. They are why a chief legal officer in this state is not only a Loop buyer.
| Payer | Seat | What they pay against | Credential |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicago Am Law offices and national firms planting desks | Associate and counsel on private equity, funds, M&A, energy/project finance, products | A national or office scale. NALP showed Chicago was not a $225,000 median city even on 1 January 2025 | Illinois general admission (UBE + MPRE 80), or the seat does not sit |
| Corporate legal departments at Illinois headquarters | General counsel, chief legal officer, deputy GC, lead counsel at the 29 Fortune 500 HQs and at PE sponsors | A company band, too often copied from a Loop first-year rather than the metro the seat sits in | Illinois license, or Rule 716 limited house-counsel admission from 1 January 2026 |
| Public desks | Assistant Attorney General; Assistant State's Attorney; Assistant Public Defender; AUSA; IEPA Technical Advisor; ARDC Intake Counsel | Appropriated and posted ranges — Springfield monthly bands, ARDC $104,000–$130,000 — not lockstep and not trying to be | Illinois license on the public pages; pre-licensed public-defender path is one calendar year |
The lawyer who earns the 2026 figure is sitting in one of three published bands, not in a single Loop column.
- New graduates land below the mode. NALP’s Class of 2024 National Summary Report put the East North Central employed-graduate median at $88,000 on 2,708 salaries, the national business (in-house-adjacent) median at $100,000 on 1,230 salaries, and the national private-practice median at $160,000. Firms of 501 or more lawyers posted a $225,000 median on 6,568 salaries; firms of one to ten posted $80,000.
- Springfield publishes a monthly band. An Illinois EPA Technical Advisor II (Attorney) posting republished by the Illinois State Bar Association on 20 August 2025 listed an anticipated start of $6,589 a month and a full range of $6,589 to $9,541 a month, which annualizes at twelve times to $79,068 to $114,492, and required an Illinois license. The AFSCME 2023–2027 master contract places Technical Advisor II at RC-010-20, with general increases of 3.95 percent on 1 July 2025 and 3.5 percent on 1 July 2026.
- ARDC Chicago posts a targeted range. The Commission’s Intake Counsel posting listed a targeted salary of $104,000 to $130,000 for three to ten years of experience and an Active Illinois bar license, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
The company that pays the 2026 figure is not only a Loop law firm matching a first-year.
- Named-executive cash is a filing, not a median. Abbott Laboratories’ 2026 proxy, for the fiscal year 2024, reported salary of $911,154, a non-equity incentive of $1,094,700, and Summary Compensation Table total of $7,981,335 for the former Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at an Abbott Park headquarters. That is one NYSE-listed healthcare manufacturer’s named-executive package. It is not in-house counsel salary Chicago, and it is not a market median.
- Exchange volume prices the desk, not the W-2. CME Group’s Form 10-K for the year ended 31 December 2025, filed 26 February 2026, reported full-year revenue of $6,520.6 million and record average daily volume of 28.1 million contracts. The earnings release put professional fees and outside services at $150.5 million for 2025. That is derivatives demand sitting in Chicago. It is not a general counsel paycheck.
- Public buyers are named offices. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office describes 750 Assistant State’s Attorneys handling more than 200,000 cases a year. The Cook County Public Defender lists more than 500 attorneys. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois lists approximately 125 criminal Assistant U.S. Attorneys and approximately 30 civil. The Illinois Attorney General’s careers page, accessed 11 September 2026, inventories Assistant Attorney General titles from Chicago and Springfield through Joliet, Peoria, Rock Island, Belleville, Carbondale, Quincy and Urbana.
Lockstep is a Loop product. It is not Illinois payroll.
Chicago-headquartered Am Law platforms can fund a national first-year. That does not make the first-year the statewide rate, and it does not make the 2026 Milbank print a settled Chicago scale.
Cravath’s own careers page, accessed 11 September 2026, still published a New York associate base ranging from $225,000 to $420,000. That is a New York lockstep publication. It is the scale Chicago BigLaw is priced against. It is not an Illinois payroll file. Sidley Austin, Chicago-headquartered, matched a 2024 grid from $225,000 for a first-year through $445,000 at the ninth-year standardized rung, as Above the Law reported from the firm memo on 30 November 2023, with year-end 2023 base bonuses from $20,000 through $115,000. That memo is a 2024 salary year. It is not a 2026 ratification.
On 2 June 2026, Milbank announced a new associate scale effective 1 July 2026: first-year $235,000 through eighth-year $455,000. Bloomberg Law, on 17 June 2026, reported more than a dozen firms had adopted it within two weeks, among them McDermott Will & Schulte and Katten Muchin. Above the Law, on 26 August 2026, reported that Cravath had not matched 85 days later and that most of BigLaw was still waiting. This page does not treat $235,000 as a settled Illinois or Chicago 2026 lockstep. As of late August 2026 it is a Milbank-led scale with a split match. The class-year ladder itself lives on the national scale page; the Illinois question is whether a general counsel matching this state should print it.
The employers who can print it are real. Above the Law’s 15 April 2026 restatement of the 2026 Am Law 100, covering calendar-year 2025, put Kirkland & Ellis at $10.556 billion of gross revenue, $2.547 million revenue per lawyer, $11.121 million profits per equity partner, and 4,145 lawyers, and put Sidley Austin at $3.738 billion of gross revenue. Law.com, on 18 March 2026, reported Kirkland partner headcount of about 1,823. Those are firmwide dollars, not Chicago-office profits per equity partner. They explain why a Loop first-year can be funded. They do not price a Champaign commercial counsel seat, and they are not the spine of this table.
The incoming desks are the 2025–26 add, not a census. Law.com, on 3 September 2025, reported Akin opening a downtown Chicago office in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and investment funds. Simpson Thacher announced a five-partner Chicago launch on 6 August 2026 for middle-market private equity and family offices. Milbank announced a Chicago office on 24 August 2026 for energy-transition and project-finance work. A&O Shearman announced Chicago-market energy-transition hires on 7 April 2025. Bloomberg Law, on 20 May 2025, reported Sidley adding a Kirkland investment-funds lawyer into its Chicago funds group, and cited more than $76 billion of Sidley M&A and $48 billion of private equity over the prior twelve months against more than $372 billion and $415 billion at Kirkland. Practice labels moving through Chicago — funds formation, energy project finance, middle-market private equity — are why the lockstep column exists. They are not why Peoria’s median sits where it sits.
Lockstep is the offer Illinois companies lose people to, not the payroll most seats sit on.
Statute, tariff, MDL and a damages reset price the seats lockstep ignores.
The 2026 Illinois lawyer the market prices only as a Loop associate is sitting in a state whose demand is being rewritten by an energy statute, a data-center tariff docket, products MDLs and a biometric-privacy reset.
Grid and tariff desksProducts and privacy desks
- Storage and IRP A 2026 statute puts energy-storage procurement and a statewide integrated resource plan on the Illinois Power Agency and Commerce Commission calendars. Springfield and Chicago, not only the Loop.
- Large-load tariffs A March 2026 Commerce Commission order opened an investigation into whether data-center-scale customers need their own tariff. Northern-Illinois grid counsel, not a first-year scale.
- MDL and BIPA Northern District products dockets and a 2026 Seventh Circuit damages reset reprice privacy and mass-tort seats the lockstep column never counted.
Governor Pritzker signed the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act, Public Act 104-0458, on 8 January 2026; the Act takes effect 1 June 2026. The Governor’s office described 3 gigawatts of grid-scale battery storage by 2030, a lift of the moratorium on new large nuclear reactors, statewide integrated resource planning, and long-term clean-energy procurements at the Illinois Power Agency. The Agency’s energy-storage page, accessed 11 September 2026, set an initial target of 3,000 megawatts of nameplate capacity in commercial operation by 31 December 2030, with the 26 August 2026 procurement covering 1,038 megawatts of standalone four-hour storage — 450 megawatts in MISO Zone 4 and 588 megawatts in the PJM ComEd Area — and results published 1 September 2026. The first statewide integrated resource plan is due to the Illinois Commerce Commission by 15 November 2026. A single-state RTO study is due no later than 1 December 2026. Those desks sit at the Agency in Chicago, at the Commission in Springfield and Chicago, and in-house at ComEd and Exelon. Climate and Equitable Jobs Act work from Public Act 102-0662, signed 15 September 2021, is the base; CRGA is the 2026 increment.
The Illinois Commerce Commission, in a 20 March 2026 press release, stated that ComEd had 75 customer applications in its pipeline whose combined maximum demand surpassed ComEd’s all-time system peak, on applications of 50 megawatts or more. The Commission approved tariff changes adding deposit protection if a large-demand project is canceled, and directed a docketed investigation by 23 April 2026 to finish within eight months on whether Large Demand Project Applicants or Customers need a separate tariff. Consolidated Dockets 25-0677 and 25-0679. A general counsel at a data-center developer or a utility holding company matching this state is buying that investigation, not a first-year lockstep.
The Northern District of Illinois terminated 13,186 civil cases in the year ending 30 September 2025; the Central District of Illinois commenced 1,578 and the Southern District 2,339. Federal Judicial Caseload Statistics 2025 noted that the Northern District terminated 12,836 civil cases, most in the hair-relaxer MDL. Parallel to the products docket, biometric-privacy work was recut twice. In Cothron v. White Castle System, Inc., 2023 IL 128004, filed 17 February 2023, the Illinois Supreme Court held that a separate BIPA claim accrues each time a private entity scans or transmits biometric identifiers without prior informed consent. Public Act 103-0769, effective 2 August 2024, then provided that collecting or disclosing the same biometric identifier from the same person using the same method is a single violation entitling the aggrieved person to at most one recovery, with liquidated damages remaining $1,000 negligent and $5,000 intentional or reckless. On 1 April 2026, the Seventh Circuit in Clay v. Union Pacific Railroad Co. held that the 2024 amendment applies retroactively to cases pending when it was enacted, illustrating that about 1,500 fingerprint scans times $5,000 would have been $7.5 million for one plaintiff if per-scan damages had survived. Liability standards in Section 15 are unchanged. The 2026 fight is damages and jurisdiction, at counsel level, in the Northern District. It is not a hiring freeze on privacy lawyers, and it is not a Loop first-year.
Two readers share the number. They do not share the clock.
We have worked the Chicago associate market for eight years, for companies putting counsel on the payroll and for firms staffing the Loop desks those companies bid against. Over the trailing three years we closed 26 associate searches, 93 percent of them completed, on a typical six-to-twelve-week timeline.
Of those 26 closed Chicago-line associate searches over three years, 14 were Loop or national-office associate seats competing with scale, 7 were company-side counsel seats at associate seniority, and 5 were downstate or Springfield-adjacent associate files. Counter-offers landed on 9 of the 26 closed files — the 35 percent incidence this desk records on the line. Six of the 14 Loop seats drew a counter, three of the seven company-side seats did, and none of the five downstate files did, because the printed number could not move. Median offer-to-acceptance on the line is 11 working days.
In that same Chicago interview cohort, over a 24-month window, 112 of the lawyers sitting as general counsel, deputy general counsel or head of legal at Illinois companies named the Chicago lockstep first-year as the competing offer they budget against, not the wage they pay the rest of the desk. A general counsel at an Illinois-headquartered healthcare manufacturer told us they had been printing the Chicago occupation median against a fourth-year Loop associate and calling it a premium. A head of legal at a Midwest utility holding company said the energy-regulatory seat was losing calendar time to the Illinois Power Agency procurement, not to a shortlist. Eighty-eight of the same cohort were first-to-fourth-year Chicago associates over that 24-month window; 61 of those 88 said a company band printed below last year’s $225,000 mode died at the first counter.
Four of the five downstate associate files in that 26-search book ran past twelve weeks. The Chicago associate desk is faster than we are at filling a Springfield or Champaign seat, and we say so in the first call. Fifty-four of the cohort were government or public-body lawyers; 41 of those 54 said the published Springfield and ARDC bands were the actual conversation, not a failed private-practice search. That is the finding that does not flatter the easy story. The Loop column closes. The rest of the state is where the timeline lives.
Two anonymized composites from that book. A private-equity-backed healthcare platform in the Chicago suburbs hired a fourth-year commercial associate in nine weeks; the competing Loop conversation was last year’s $225,000 mode, and a counter landed inside the incidence this desk records. An Illinois-headquartered manufacturer opened an associate-seniority commercial counsel seat against the Chicago occupation median, lost the first shortlist to a matching-office offer, and closed on the second list in eleven weeks after the general counsel stopped treating the occupation median as a premium. A Springfield energy-regulatory associate file, scoped against Illinois Power Agency procurement work, took fourteen weeks and closed only after the company accepted a later start tied to the August storage event rather than to the offer letter.
Companies building a legal function from nothing rather than adding a seat should start with the first general counsel guide before anything on this page. The service view of the Chicago book sits on our in-house counsel recruiting desk and on associate recruiting. National in-house cash bands, which this article does not reprint, live on the 2026 in-house counsel salary benchmark.
What an Illinois pay headline leaves out.
The lockstep is the number a Loop candidate already knows. It is not the number most Illinois lawyers earn, and it is not the number a public body can print.
Illinois general admission remains the Uniform Bar Examination plus an MPRE scaled score of 80, with first-time February 2026 filing fees of $1,200 through 15 September on the Board of Admissions page. Newly admitted attorneys complete the Rule 793(c) Illinois educational component. The National Conference of Bar Examiners recorded 3,022 Illinois takers and 1,985 passers in 2025, a 66 percent pass rate. The Illinois Supreme Court swore in 282 February passers on 7 May 2025, 222 of them in the First District, and 1,637 July passers on 5 November 2025. Combined ceremony counts of 1,919 sit against 1,985 NCBE passers; the pages do not explain the difference, and this page does not force them equal.
A January 20 2025 presidential memorandum froze federal civilian hiring, later extended through 15 July 2025 and then governed through 15 October 2025. NALP’s Class of 2025 Selected Findings, dated 5 August 2026, recorded federal government jobs excluding clerkships falling from 1,099 for the Class of 2024 to 692, a 37.0 percent drop, and Federal Honors Program jobs falling from 317 to 50. Those are national counts. NALP does not publish an Illinois cut in that PDF, and this page does not invent one. Judicial clerkships were not subject to the freeze. For an Illinois general counsel, the implication is supply diverted into firm and company seats, not a state-level Honors census.
The Illinois Supreme Court’s policy on artificial intelligence, announced 18 December 2024, authorizes use by litigants, attorneys, judges and court staff if it complies with legal and ethical standards, with users accountable for the final work product. The ARDC aligned with that policy and issued The Illinois Attorney’s Guide to Implementing AI with an effective date of 1 October 2025. That is a competence overlay on every Illinois seat. It is not a new practice-area headcount, and it is not a reason to print a Loop first-year onto a Springfield desk.
Illinois lawyer pay: questions from both sides of the offer
What is the lawyer salary Illinois figure a company should print in 2026?
Print the May 2025 statewide employed-lawyer median of $160,800 as the occupation floor, not as the offer. Bureau of Labor Statistics wages published through O*NET describe employed lawyers across firm, in-house and government. Chicago’s median on that table is $165,660; Peoria’s is $161,150. The July 2026 Milbank first-year of $235,000 is a different object, and Cravath had not matched it as of 26 August 2026. Name the metro, the seniority and the payer before the board sees a single number.
How much do lawyers make in Chicago compared with the rest of Illinois?
Chicago-Naperville-Elgin’s May 2025 lawyer median was $165,660, only $4,860 above the statewide $160,800. Peoria sat at $161,150; Springfield at $131,400; Rockford at $103,190; Decatur at $100,790, all on the same O*NET/BLS table. Lawyer salary Chicago is a thin premium on the state, not a second country. How much do lawyers make in Chicago is also not the lockstep first-year: NALP’s Class of 2024 Chicago law-firm median was $215,000 on 791 salaries.
Is attorney salary Chicago the same as the 2026 lockstep?
No. Only 42.9 percent of 14 Chicago offices sat at $225,000 as of 1 January 2025, according to NALP’s 2025 Associate Salary Survey. Chicago is not on NALP’s six-city list where the first-year median had already reached $225,000. Attorney salary Chicago on the occupation file is $165,660. Treat $235,000 as a Milbank-led print with a split match, not as Illinois payroll.
Should a general counsel match $235,000 to hire in-house counsel in Illinois?
Not as a statute: Springfield’s May 2025 lawyer median was $131,400. In house counsel salary Chicago collides with Loop first-years when the candidate can still walk to a matching office; it does not bind a Bloomington insurance headquarters or a Moline manufacturer. Abbott Park’s named-executive general counsel cash is a proxy filing, not a market median. Rule 716, effective 1 January 2026, is the credential clock; it is not a pay scale.
How long does Sartori take to close a Chicago associate search?
The Chicago associate desk works to a typical 6 to 12 week timeline, with a 93 percent completion rate on 26 closed searches over three years. Four of five downstate associate files in that book ran past twelve weeks, and we now brief that in the first call. Median offer-to-acceptance on the line is 11 working days. Counter-offer incidence is 35 percent.
Can an Illinois company hire house counsel who is not admitted here?
Yes, from 1 January 2026, under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 716. Limited house-counsel admission carries a $1,500 filing fee and a 90-day unauthorized-practice safe harbor if the application is filed within 90 days of the start date. The lawyer works exclusively for one non-law entity; the license ends 120 days after leaving unless a new employer is certified. Public desks on the pages still require an Illinois license.
Wage surveys, the Master Roll, the dockets and the Chicago research file.
Employed-lawyer medians come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics via O*NET. First-year office bases come from NALP as of 1 January 2025. The 2026 lockstep comes from firm memos compiled by Bloomberg Law, Above the Law and Biglaw Investor. In-house buyers come from DCEO and employer pages. Sartori figures come from the Chicago associate research file.

BLS OEWS percentiles describe employed lawyers (firm, in-house, government) and exclude most partners' residual draws as such. NALP Chicago first-year figures are 14 participating offices as of 1 January 2025, before the July 2026 Milbank print. IDES medians are ECI-adjusted and not an official BLS series. ARDC counts are licenses, not jobs. Am Law 100 dollars are firm-wide, not Chicago-office PEP. Abbott 2024 cash is one named-executive package. CME professional fees are a corporate line, not a legal-department budget. NALP Class of 2025 federal and Honors counts are national. The 2025 Supreme Court HTML caseload pair that duplicates 2021 is unused.
Our own numbers — the Chicago interview cohort, the mandate telemetry, the counter-offer incidence and the offer-to-acceptance window — come from the continuous research program described on our research page, which sets out the cohorts, the survey waves and the mapping coverage behind every Sartori figure quoted above.
