Perkins Coie Salary 2026: Associate Scale, Bonus and Partner Pay
A Seattle general counsel asking what this firm pays in 2026 is asking two questions that share a label: which associate cell is actually published, and whether matching that cell fills the in-house seat the company is buying.
The published cell is not public. The in-house band is.
The first question a Seattle general counsel asks about Perkins Coie salary in 2026 is a cash question, not a lateral-partner count: what associate cell is actually on a memo, and whether matching that cell fills the seat the company is buying. Across 250 structured interviews with Seattle partners and counsel, that is the sequence in-house buyers used.
Above the Law’s 2026 summer scorecard, last updated through 31 August 2026, does not list Perkins Coie among firms matching the Milbank-led lockstep. A Seattle general counsel who “matches Perkins” this year is matching a cell the firm has not confirmed. Not on the scorecard. Not a published cell.
Four facts, four different documents. None of them is a 2026 Perkins class-year table. The memos, postings and docket are cited below.
- $1.9M
- Perkins Coie profits per equity partner, 2024 vintage — firm-level PEP, not an individual partner draw.
- Legal Business, 17 November 2025
- $6K–$25K
- 2025 Perkins special bonuses by seniority, announced 26 November 2025 and paid 31 December 2025. Year-end amounts were announced separately.
- Above the Law bonus tracker, 26 November 2025
- 39%
- Counter-offer incidence on Sartori's Seattle associate line.
- Sartori & Partners, Seattle associate mandate telemetry
- 11 days
- Median working days from offer to signature on that Seattle associate line, trailing three years.
- Sartori & Partners, Seattle associate mandate telemetry
Sartori maps roughly 8,500 lawyers in Seattle. That coverage figure is a density read of the metro, not a pay distribution. The partner-profits and bonus cells above are the public Perkins cash that does exist; the 39 percent and 11-day cells are the Seattle associate line this desk actually runs.
What Perkins has actually published, and what it has not
Start with the dated memos, not with a compiler's lockstep pasted onto this firm. The last Perkins-specific base match on the record here is February 2024. The 2026 class-year row is empty.
Law360 Pulse reported on 15 February 2024 that Perkins Coie confirmed it would meet the Cravath scale for associate salary increases that year, “but there is a caveat.” Above the Law, the day before, set out the caveat from the firm memo: junior associates in classes 1 through 3 received the raise without an hours test; midlevel and senior associates needed 1,950 hours in the prior year to take it; an associate who missed that cutoff but hit 2,000 hours in 2024 would receive a make-whole bonus equal to the raise; the raises were retroactive to 1 January. The memo image was not transcribed on the page. Class-year dollars from that match were not transcribed.
Public 2024 cash after that match is bonus, and it arrived late. Bloomberg Law reported on 27 December 2024 that Perkins, after initially omitting specials, paid an extra $6,000 to $25,000 by seniority, “in line with bonus scale set by Milbank LLP,” on top of year-end bonuses of $20,000 to $115,000 that the firm had already matched. The ABA Journal, on 6 January 2025, put the year-end anchors as $20,000 for the class of 2023 through $115,000 for the most senior associates. A firm spokesperson called the reversal consistent with paying market-competitive compensation. The 2024 specials were a reversal, not a plan.
Public 2025 cash is again bonus, and it arrived earlier. Above the Law’s 26 November 2025 bonus tracker recorded Perkins Coie specials of $6,000 for the class of 2025 through $25,000 for the class of 2018 and senior, paid 31 December 2025, with year-end bonuses “announced separately.” The 1 December 2025 write-up of the same memo notes the firm came out earlier than in 2024. Perkins 2025 year-end amounts are not on the scorecard. Those year-end amounts remain unpublished.
Public 2026 associate base is the empty row. A Perkins Coie associate salary class-year table for 2026 is not on the scorecard. Above the Law’s 2026 summer scorecard, with a table running through 31 August 2026, lists Milbank, McDermott, Quinn Emanuel, Katten, Sullivan & Cromwell, Norton Rose Fulbright and others. Perkins Coie does not appear. Bloomberg Law reported on 2 June 2026 that Milbank raised associate salaries by $10,000 to $20,000 by class year, taking the scale from $235,000 to $455,000, effective 1 July 2026. That is the talent price a Seattle general counsel is usually handed as a proxy. It is not a Perkins announcement.
Partner-level public cash is older still, and it is a firm average. Legal Business reported on 17 November 2025 that Perkins revenue was $1.259 billion and profits per equity partner $1.9 million on the 2024 vintage, against Ashurst at $1.319 billion and $1.8 million. The 2026 Am Law 100 PEP ranking published by Law.com on 14 April 2026 put Am Law 100 PEP up 14.0 percent in 2025; the Perkins firm row on that page sat behind a paywall and is omitted. Non-equity partner compensation is not published in any source. Individual draws are not a pay cell anyone can cite for this firm.
| Date | Instrument | What is public | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14–15 Feb 2024 | Base-scale match | Cravath-scale confirmation with hours caveat; class-year dollars not transcribed | Law360 Pulse; Above the Law |
| 2024 hours gate | Raise condition | Classes 1–3 ungated; midlevel/senior needed 1,950 prior-year hours (2,000 in 2024 for make-whole) | Above the Law, 14 February 2024 |

| 26 Nov / 31 Dec 2025 | Special bonuses | Specials $6,000–$25,000 paid 31 December 2025; year-end 2025 not on the scorecard | Above the Law |
| Through 31 Aug 2026 | 2026 class-year base | Not public — Perkins Coie does not appear on the 2026 raise scorecard | Above the Law scorecard |
| 17 Nov 2025 | Equity partner PEP | $1.9 million (2024 vintage); revenue $1.259 billion. Non-equity partner pay not published | Legal Business |
Raises retroactive to 1 January 2024, hours gates, and the 2024 specials reversal are the Perkins-specific record. The 2026 lockstep dollars live on the market table, not on this firm’s row. See the memos and scorecards below.
Does matching Perkins Coie salary fill the in-house seat?
Amazon's Seattle Corporate Counsel postings print a base band whose ceiling sits below the 2026 market first-year. That is the comparison a general counsel can actually make under Washington's pay-transparency statute.
Amazon.jobs listed Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal (Job ID 10417699) in Seattle at a base of $153,900 to $208,200, plus sign-on and RSUs, when the posting was accessed on 11 September 2026. The desk is cloud security, transactional and regulatory work, enterprise-agreement security commitments, inbound and outbound IP and data licensing. The gates are a J.D. and membership in one state bar, five or more years of legal experience, and an export-control constraint: U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or asylee or refugee. Preferred experience is a mix of corporate law firm and in-house. That is a priced Seattle seat, not a theory.
The same employer’s Corporate Counsel, Patents posting (Job ID 10439324), preferred location Seattle, carries the same Seattle base band of $153,900 to $208,200. It requires registration to practice before the USPTO and five or more years post-bar. Preferred experience includes personally preparing and prosecuting at least 20 applications. Corporate Counsel, Security Legal (Job ID 10469087) reprints the same Seattle band and, uniquely among the three, names managing outside counsel relationships, budgeting, and staffing as the work. The posting prices outside counsel as a managed spend. It does not price the lockstep cell as the seat being filled.
Microsoft Careers, on the Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs internships hub accessed the same day, listed Legal Counsel IC5 U.S. typical base at $147,000 to $258,000, with a Bay Area and New York band of $185,900 to $278,900. The organization name on the page is CELA; Customer & Partner Solutions is described as serving over 100,000 Microsoft commercial and Elevate clients. A J.D. and an active license are the stated gates. The IC5 ceiling clears the Amazon Seattle cap and still sits below the 2026 market third-year base of $270,000 on Biglaw Investor’s table accessed 11 September 2026.
Those ranges are public because Washington requires them. RCW 49.58.110, effective 1 January 2023, requires employers with 15 or more employees to disclose a wage scale or salary range, and a general description of benefits and other compensation, in each posting. Washington L&I Administrative Policy ES.E.2, issued 3 December 2025, states that the range must have a floor and a ceiling, and that it covers remote jobs that could be filled by a Washington-based employee. A 2025 amendment added a cure window from 27 July 2025 through 27 July 2027: written notice and five business days to correct before applicant remedies. Statutory damages run $100 to $5,000 per violation. That is why a Seattle general counsel can put a printed Corporate Counsel band next to a lockstep screenshot. The statute forced the left-hand number into the open.

Microsoft Careers ↗The arithmetic is the thesis. The 2026 market first-year base of $235,000 already sits $26,800 above the $208,200 ceiling on Amazon’s Seattle Corporate Counsel postings accessed in September 2026. A fifth-year market base of $385,000 sits $176,800 above that same ceiling. A general counsel who “matches Perkins” on cash, using the market table as a proxy for an unpublished 2026 cell, is overpaying the posted in-house base — or is buying a different product. Sign-on and RSUs are named on the Amazon postings and not quantified on the pages. Equity value is therefore omitted from the cash comparison.
NALP’s class of 2025 salary distribution, based on 22,715 reported full-time salaries lasting at least one year, shows why the lockstep screenshot travels so easily. Salaries of $225,000 accounted for 21.5 percent of reported salaries; the left-side peak of $60,000 to $100,000 accounted for 50.0 percent. NALP notes that the unadjusted mean overstates average starting salary by an estimated 5.5 percent because large-firm salaries are more completely reported. The right-hand peak is the large-firm cell. It is not a published in-house salary for any named Seattle employer on the pages.

In the same Seattle interview cohort, 64 of 91 in-house hiring managers — general counsel, deputy general counsel, chief legal officer, head of legal — over a 24-month window said they would not match a large-firm fifth-year lockstep cell to fill a Corporate Counsel seat. A general counsel at a Seattle-headquartered cloud and devices company told us the lockstep fifth-year is what the company pays the firm, not what it pays the seat. That is the buyer’s distinction this page is built on.
The lockstep fifth-year is what we pay the firm, not what we pay the seat.
What the lockstep cell actually buys
Cash is the wrong unit if the seat is a patent counseling job, a House Counsel appointment, or a cloud-security desk with an export-control gate. The credential, not the screenshot, is the purchase.
Cash proxyThe seat as posted
- Lockstep hours A class-year paycheck tied to a billable expectation. The 2024 Perkins match made that expectation explicit for midlevels and seniors.
- Credentialed firepower USPTO registration, technical degrees, ITC and PTAB experience, Federal Circuit clerkships as roles on the bench. This is what a patent or cloud-security desk actually consumes.
- The posted in-house product A Corporate Counsel or Legal Counsel IC5 seat with a printed Washington range, an employer-only practice option under APR 8(f), and no partnership track.
Perkins Coie’s intellectual-property page, accessed 11 September 2026, describes 250 IP lawyers and agents globally and more than 80 USPTO-registered patent attorneys and agents. The patent-litigation page describes 120 IP lawyers and agents globally, with over 80 percent holding degrees in electrical engineering, computer science, life sciences, or similar, and names venues including the ITC, the PTAB, and the Federal Circuit. The patent-prosecution page states that more than half of 80 patent attorneys and agents hold advanced science degrees. Those are the firm’s own descriptions of the desk a Seattle general counsel buys as outside counsel. They are not a census of Seattle office headcount, which is not public on the pages.
Chambers USA 2026, as Perkins reported on 4 June 2026, ranked the firm in 91 practice and industry areas, including 24 Band 1 rankings, with 187 individually recognized lawyers. Chambers’ Washington intellectual-property table ranks Ashurst Perkins Coie in Band 1, with 22 years ranked. Neighbouring Band 2 names sit on that table for contrast only; they are not explained here. The department profile calls out patent prosecution depth in the Northwest, with patent litigation, post-grant, trademark and copyright across software, telecommunications, aerospace and medical devices. Ranked-individual names are not reprinted.
The USPTO’s own gate is simpler than the firm brochure. Becoming a patent practitioner requires passing a 100-question examination in two three-hour sessions, with a pass mark of 63 of 90 scored items — 70 percent. Application, examination, Prometric and registration-grant fees are published on the same page. Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents can be registered; limited recognition exists for certain nonimmigrant aliens under 37 CFR § 11.9(b). The Office of Enrollment and Discipline’s General Requirements Bulletin, issued August 2026, sets the scientific and technical training criteria under 37 CFR § 11.7. A general counsel matching a generic cash cell without that registration is not buying a patent seat, on either side of the table.
Courtroom versus counseling splits the rest of the Washington market. Washington Supreme Court Admission and Practice Rule 3, amended effective 1 September 2025, sets the lawyer-bar, motion, and UBE-transfer paths. Admission by motion requires a certificate of good standing from another U.S. jurisdiction plus active legal experience for at least one of the three years immediately preceding. The WSBA Admissions FAQ, accessed 11 September 2026, states that Washington begins the NextGen UBE in July 2026, with qualifying scores of 260 on the legacy UBE and 610 on NextGen, and an MPRE of 85 or higher on the exam-waiver path. House Counsel licensed under APR 8(f) may advise their employer-client only and cannot appear in court. A Perkins Seattle associate who needs to stand up in King County Superior Court or the Western District of Washington needs full WSBA admission. A chief legal officer hiring a counseling-only product lawyer can use House Counsel. The cash cell does not encode the difference.
The lockstep cell prices a platform seat. The combination closed into that platform on 28 June 2026; it did not reprint a class-year table.
- Patent litigation and prosecution. Technical degrees, USPTO registration, ITC Section 337, PTAB, Federal Circuit. The firm page is the map of the product a company already buys as outside counsel.
- Emerging companies and venture. Cap-table and financing work for high-growth companies and funds. No USPTO gate. Seattle remains a named combination hub; the practice-head strip also names Palo Alto, Los Angeles, New York, London and Sydney.
- Technology transactions and privacy. Hyperscaler contracts, fiber, subsea cables, data centers, AI, breach response. The U.S. practice-head location named on the page is Seattle.
- White-collar and political law. DOJ, SEC, CFTC, OFAC, FTC and state attorneys general as counterparties. Leadership geography on the regulatory strip names Washington, D.C., not Seattle, as co-lead. Portland appears on that strip as a named office; it is not the hub this page prices.
The posted in-house product is a counseling seat with a printed range, a credential gate, and no partnership option.
- Patents at a devices company. USPTO registration, five or more years, a stated preference for applications actually filed. The employer works with outside counsel on U.S. and foreign prosecution; the in-house lawyer is the buyer of that desk, not a substitute for it.
- Cloud and security legal. Export-control citizenship on the AWS Legal posting; outside-counsel management on the Security Legal posting. The spend is a line the in-house lawyer runs, not a lockstep the company matches.
- CELA Legal Counsel IC5. A J.D. and an active license, a U.S. typical band that tops out below the market third-year. The organization serves a commercial-client base the page puts above 100,000.
- House Counsel, counseling only. Employer-only advice under APR 8(f), no courtroom appearance, same MCLE and license-fee rules as active members. Full court authority requires admission by motion. The cheaper, faster path when the seat will never see a gallery.
- On-demand secondment. The firm’s careers hub, accessed 11 September 2026, lists Reach as on-demand legal consulting for short-to-medium-term roles inside the firm or in-house with clients. That is a third seating option between lockstep associate and employed general counsel. It is not a published compensation cell.
Three shocks that sit under the 2026 cash question
An executive order aimed at this firm, a transatlantic close, and a Washington statute that forces ranges onto postings. None of them published a 2026 class-year base. All three change what a general counsel is buying when they match a screenshot.
Federal shockIntegrated books
- Order aimed at the firm Clearance review, contractor disclosure, building access, a bar on federal hiring of the firm’s people without a waiver.
- Injunction in force The district court declared the order void. The circuit has heard argument. The stay on enforcement remains the measured legal status.
- Combined platform A transatlantic close that made Seattle a named hub of a global firm, not a Seattle-only Am Law platform.
- Integrated P&L ahead An SRA Alternative Business Structure for financial integration from the next financial year, not outside investment.
Executive Order 14230, published at 90 Fed. Reg. 11781 on 11 March 2025 and signed 6 March 2025, directed agencies to suspend active security clearances of individuals at Perkins Coie pending review, to force government contractors to disclose business with the firm, to limit official building access, and to refrain from hiring Perkins Coie employees absent an agency-head waiver. OMB memorandum M-25-17, dated 7 March 2025, gave agencies until 5 April 2025 to report contracts, subcontracts, goods, property and SCIFs. For six days before the temporary restraining order, that text was a live threat to clearance-holding national-security, ITC, and government-contracts lawyers at the firm, and to federal in-house hiring of its alumni.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted a TRO on 12 March 2025 in Civil Action No. 25-716, enjoining Sections 1, 3 and 5. On 2 May 2025 the same court declared the order unlawful as a violation of the First, Fifth and Sixth Amendments and therefore null and void, and entered a permanent injunction. Notice of appeal was filed 30 June 2025. The firm’s own docket page states that oral argument was heard on 14 May 2026 before the D.C. Circuit, that the government moved to dismiss the appeal on 2 March 2026 and withdrew that motion the next day, and that the district court’s injunction remains in place during the appeal. As of 11 September 2026, no D.C. Circuit opinion is on the pages opened for this article. A Seattle general counsel cannot treat the order as dead law. A clearance-sensitive in-house seat filled from this platform still carries appellate tail risk.
The second shock is structural. Perkins Coie and Ashurst announced intent to combine on 17 November 2025. Partnerships approved the combination on 13 April 2026, restating combined revenues at approximately $2.8 billion and around 3,000 lawyers, with a then-expected close in the third quarter. The close came earlier. Ashurst Perkins Coie announced on 28 June 2026 that the combination had completed that day: 52 offices across 20 countries and regions, more than 950 partners, 3,500 client-facing practitioners, hubs in Seattle, London, Sydney and New York. The practitioner count on the close release and the lawyer count on the April vote are different measures; they are not collapsed here. The Global Legal Post reported on 23 June 2026 that Ashurst, for the year ended 30 April, posted revenue of £1.15 billion, up 11 percent, and PEP of £1.59 million, up 15 percent. The Law Gazette reported on 3 August 2026 that an SRA Alternative Business Structure would let the global LLP become a member of the U.K. LLP for financial integration from the beginning of 2027, and that the firm said it was not seeking third-party investment. A U.K. newly qualified cell for the combined firm was not on the pages. No U.K. newly qualified scale for this platform was public on those pages.
The third shock is the statute already used in the last section, and it has a demand-side twin on the patent desk. The USPTO’s FY 2025 fee final rule, 89 Fed. Reg. 91898, took effect 19 January 2025. The FY 2025 Agency Financial Report recorded 475,223 serialized patent applications, up 2.0 percent, first-action pendency of 20.5 months in January 2025, and unexamined UPR inventory falling from 837,928 in January 2025 to 788,229 in September 2025, a 5.9 percent drop, with 800 new UPR examiners hired in the fiscal year. Longer pendency through early 2025 pushed portfolio-counseling and continuation work; examiner hiring into September 2025 is a 2026–27 easing, not a trial-lawyer spike. Washington’s My Health My Data Act, RCW 19.373.020, required regulated entities to maintain a consumer health data privacy policy beginning 31 March 2024. That is a years-3-to-6 privacy seat, in-house and at the firm, not a first-year lockstep driver.
Capital underneath those desks is concentrated, not local. NVCA reported on 13 April 2026 that U.S. venture capital reached $320 billion across 15,352 deals in 2025, with AI at 65.4 percent of deal value. The 2026 Yearbook PDF puts Washington at $7,486.0 million across 409 deals — 2.3 percent of U.S. value. California is named here only as the contrast that still takes the AI mega-round work; its mechanics are not this page. LSEG reported on 12 August 2026 that U.S.-target announced M&A in January through July 2026 reached $1.69 trillion, the strongest opening seven months on record for U.S. targets, with technology at 23 percent of global announced activity. ECVC and tech-M&A associates, and in-house corporate counsel on AI and cloud deals, are the seniority band that capital actually moves. First-year lockstep is not.
How we price a Seattle seat against this platform
Eight years in this market, 23 closed associate searches, and a 93 percent completion rate do not make the unpublished 2026 cell appear. They do show what happens when a company tries to buy the screenshot instead of the seat.
We have worked the Seattle legal market for 8 years, for technology and energy companies, for in-house legal departments, and for the associate seats those departments hire from. Over the trailing three years we closed 23 associate searches on this line, with a 93 percent completion rate and a typical timeline of 6 to 12 weeks. Median offer-to-acceptance is 11 working days. Counter-offer incidence on the same line is 39 percent.
Of 23 closed Seattle associate searches over three years, 9 were technology or intellectual-property-adjacent midlevel seats, years 3 to 6. Six of those nine drew a counter-offer from the incumbent firm. The remaining closed files sat in emerging-companies, technology-transactions, and general commercial seats.
Of the same 23 closed files, 5 ran past the typical 6-to-12-week window even though they completed. That is the finding that cuts against the tidy timeline. The delay was not a shortage of names. It was a company that opened on lockstep cash and then discovered, in week eight, that the posted band, the USPTO gate, or the House Counsel limitation was the actual purchase. We still closed those five. We closed them late, and the lateness is ours as much as the client’s, because we did not force the product distinction at the brief.
The other uncomfortable number is a hole. Our Seattle mandate telemetry records cash. It does not capture equity value on in-house offers. Amazon’s postings name sign-on and RSUs and do not quantify them. A cash-to-cash comparison between a lockstep fifth-year and a $208,200 Corporate Counsel ceiling therefore systematically overstates the lockstep advantage. We can see the printed base. We cannot see the rest of the package. A page that pretended otherwise would be more fluent and less true.
In the same interview cohort, 72 associates and counsel currently or recently at large Seattle-hub firms, over a 24-month window, were asked what actually retained them after a published raise. Thirty-three of those 72 named hours availability, not the dollar cell, as the live question after the 2024 hours-gated match. That tracks the public memo: the 1,950-hour prior-year test, not the untranscribed class-year dollars, is what decided whether a midlevel raise was real money. A head of talent at a Redmond-area software company told us the opposite problem from the company side: print the RCW range, and the lockstep screenshot lands in the same inbox, as if the two figures described the same job.
Two composites, described by category only. A year-4 patent-prosecution associate on an Am Law combined-platform Seattle desk, USPTO-registered, received an in-house Patents counsel approach from a Seattle-headquartered e-commerce and devices company at the posted band. The cash gap was obvious; the RSU value was not in our file. The associate declined on an 11-day clock. We had nothing honest to say about equity, because we did not have it. A separate search for a PE-backed software platform’s general counsel, hiring Corporate Counsel, Patents, opened on a lockstep match. It ran 14 weeks, past our typical window, through two declines, and filled at the posted ceiling with USPTO registration as the gate that had been missing from the first brief. No real firm, company, or candidate is named in either file.
Perkins Coie ranked 44th on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 2026, the firm reported on 1 April 2026, for the 24th consecutive year. That is a retention ranking, not a pay cell. The ABA Journal reported on 9 December 2025 that the United States held 1.37 million lawyers in 2025. The ABA’s 2024 National Lawyer Population Survey counted 26,318 resident lawyers in Washington. The Bureau of Labor Statistics May 2023 OEWS count for Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue recorded 10,110 lawyers; wage columns were suppressed, so a general counsel cannot line a lockstep cell against a BLS Seattle annual mean from that table. Statewide, the same vintage recorded 13,500 lawyers, also with wages suppressed.
If you are the associate reading this, the 2026 Perkins class-year base is not a number you can cite; the market lockstep and the 2025 specials band are. If you are the general counsel, chief legal officer, or head of legal reading this, matching that lockstep to fill a Seattle in-house seat is a different purchase from the one the postings describe. Companies that call in house counsel recruiters after opening on the screenshot rather than on the credential waste the 6-to-12-week window this market actually gives. Legal recruiters Seattle companies retain when the brief is honest will tell you the same thing: buy the seat, not the cell.
The service view of the buyer’s question sits on our in-house counsel recruiting page and, for the associate line this market actually runs, on associate recruiting. Companies building a legal function from nothing should start with hiring your first general counsel instead. The market lockstep used as a comparator throughout is set out class-year by class-year on our 2026 BigLaw associate salary scale.
Print the RCW range and the lockstep screenshot lands in the same inbox.
Perkins Coie pay in 2026: questions from both sides of the table
What is Perkins Coie salary in 2026?
A 2026 Perkins class-year base is not public as of 31 August 2026. Above the Law’s summer scorecard through that date does not list the firm among those matching the Milbank-led lockstep of $235,000 to $455,000. The last public Perkins-specific base match on the record is February 2024, when Law360 Pulse reported a Cravath-scale confirmation with an hours caveat. Public 2025 cash is bonus: specials of $6,000–$25,000, announced 26 November 2025 and paid 31 December 2025. Partner-level public cash is 2024-vintage profits per equity partner of $1.9 million, reported by Legal Business on 17 November 2025, not an individual draw.
Does matching the 2026 lockstep cell fill a Seattle in-house seat?
No. Amazon’s Seattle Corporate Counsel postings cap base at $208,200, below the $235,000 market first-year. Microsoft’s Legal Counsel IC5 U.S. typical band runs $147,000–$258,000. Those seats also require gates the lockstep cell does not encode: USPTO registration on the Devices patent posting, export-control citizenship on AWS Legal, five or more years post-bar. Matching lockstep cash buys lockstep hours and a partnership option. It does not staff the posted Corporate Counsel product.
What bonuses did Perkins Coie pay associates in 2025?
Special bonuses of $6,000 to $25,000, announced 26 November 2025 and paid 31 December 2025. Year-end 2025 amounts were not on the Above the Law scorecard. In 2024 the firm first omitted specials, then reversed on 27 December 2024 and paid $6,000–$25,000 on top of year-end bonuses of $20,000–$115,000, Bloomberg Law reported.
What is Perkins Coie partner pay in 2026?
Individual 2026 partner draws are not public; 2024-vintage profits per equity partner were $1.9 million. Legal Business reported that figure on 17 November 2025. Non-equity partner compensation was not published in any source. The combined platform closed 28 June 2026 with more than 950 partners; U.S. equity and nonequity compensation sits on a combined book from financial year 2027 under the SRA Alternative Business Structure The Law Gazette described on 3 August 2026.
How long does a Seattle associate or in-house search from this platform take?
Sartori’s Seattle associate desk typically fills in 6 to 12 weeks, with a median of 11 working days from offer to signature. Of 23 closed Seattle associate searches over three years, 5 ran past that typical window even though they completed. In-house patent seats add a USPTO-registration gate that the cash cell does not capture. House Counsel under Washington APR 8(f) can start as counseling-only without courtroom admission.
Did the Ashurst combination change 2026 associate pay at Perkins Coie?
No public 2026 class-year memo followed the 28 June 2026 close. The combination created a 52-office, 3,500-practitioner platform; it did not, on the pages, equalize U.S. and U.K. associate pay or publish a new lockstep. The Law Gazette reported on 3 August 2026 that the SRA Alternative Business Structure is for global financial integration from the beginning of 2027, not third-party investment.
The memos, the postings, and the docket.
Lockstep figures come from the 2026 Milbank announcement and the compiler table. Perkins-specific cash comes from 2024-2025 bonus coverage and the February 2024 hours-gated match. In-house bands come from employer careers pages. The 2025-26 litigation status comes from the Federal Register, the D.D.C. orders, and the firm's own docket page.

The 2026 class-year base for Perkins Coie is not on the scorecard and is not filled from the market table. Biglaw Investor dollars are the compiler's current-market lockstep. Amazon and Microsoft bands are advertised ranges, not salaries paid; RSU and sign-on values are named on those postings and not quantified, so they are omitted. Perkins 2024-vintage PEP is a firm-level average, not an individual draw. The 3,000-lawyer vote figure and the 3,500-practitioner close figure are different measures. BLS Seattle lawyer wages for May 2023 are suppressed. The D.C. Circuit had not issued an opinion on the pages opened 11 September 2026; the injunction remains in force.
Our own numbers — the Seattle interview cohort, the mandate telemetry, the counter-offer incidence and the offer-to-acceptance window — come from the continuous research program described on our research page. Sartori & Partners maps nearly 1.5 million lawyer profiles globally. Quarterly surveys have run since 2019.
