Quinn Emanuel Salary 2026: Associate Scale, Bonus and Partner Pay
As of 1 July 2026 the firm pays U.S. first-year associates $235,000 — litigation-boutique class-year cash, not a Cravath lockstep copied onto every payroll. The associate earns that figure. The general counsel who buys the trial seat funds it as a fee.
Boutique class-year cash, and a different person pays it.
Los Angeles is where Quinn Emanuel lists its headquarters, and as of 1 July 2026 the 2026 Quinn Emanuel salary for a U.S. first-year associate is $235,000 — a firm-wide base, not a New York-only figure. The general counsel who retains the firm is buying trial hours, not matching that W-2 on payroll.
Quinn Emanuel’s own U.S. compensation page, carrying a 1 July 2026 effective date, states base compensation for entry-level associates of $235,000. The American Lawyer reported on 4 June 2026 that the firm was matching Milbank’s raise, two days after Milbank moved on 2 June. Boutique match. Not a lockstep the firm set.
Sartori maps roughly 23,000 lawyers in Los Angeles, which is the coverage the firm searches against rather than a claim about who is available. The published cash sits in the next section.

What Quinn Emanuel salary actually publishes
Three public associate products, three currencies, none of them a Cravath lockstep copied everywhere. The U.S. page states a first-year base. London published a full PQE table. Germany published a Berufsjahr scale. Intermediate U.S. rungs are not this firm's memo.
Berufsjahr 1
Gross full-time base after Zulassung as Rechtsanwalt, year one.
Quinn Emanuel Germany associates advert (PDF) ↗Quinn Emanuel’s U.S. compensation page, carrying a 1 July 2026 effective date, states base compensation for entry-level associates of $235,000 and adds that first-year associates are eligible for a year-end bonus. It does not publish years two through eight. The American Lawyer reported on 4 June 2026 that the firm was matching Milbank’s 2026 associate raises: $10,000 for first through fourth years and $20,000 for fifth years and above, with 1 July as the effective date. Above the Law’s live scorecard, dated 5 June 2026, listed Quinn Emanuel at $235,000 for the classes of 2026 and 2025 and $455,000 for the class of 2018. Those two endpoints, plus the raise steps, are what this firm made public in dollar terms. The market-wide class-year ladder between them is tracked elsewhere; treating it as a Quinn Emanuel memo would be a category error. The lockstep market scale lives on our BigLaw associate salary scale for 2026.
London is a different instrument. Legal Cheek, on 5 June 2026, published the firm’s sterling PQE table effective 1 July 2026: NQ pay raised 5 percent from £180,000 to £189,000, with 1 PQE at £205,000 and 2 PQE at £231,000, running to a 7 PQE and above band of £331,000–£373,000. Global Legal Post, the same day, recorded the same 5 percent rise and noted it was the first London increase since mid-2024. Legal Business, also 5 June 2026, placed the prior cycle in June 2024, when NQ to 2 PQE rose 20 percent and 3 to 6 PQE rose by an average 28 percent. A London senior partner, speaking in role, told Legal Cheek the firm maintains its own salary scale in that marketplace and pays in pounds sterling. The firm does not currently offer UK training contracts.
| Level | Prior base | From 1 July 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| NQ (2024 and 2023) | £180,000 | £189,000 |
| 1 PQE | £195,000 | £205,000 |
| 2 PQE | £220,000 | £231,000 |
| 3 PQE | £260,000 | £273,000 |
| 4 PQE | £275,000 | £289,000 |
| 5 PQE | £290,000 | £305,000 |
| 6 PQE | £305,000 | £320,000 |
| 7 PQE and above (off scale) | £315,000–£355,000 | £331,000–£373,000 |
Figures: Legal Cheek, 5 June 2026. Global Legal Post and Legal Business corroborate the 5 percent rise and the £189,000 NQ figure the same day. The transatlantic contrast with U.S. class-year cash is a different page — from a UK lockstep to a U.S. firm — and is not this table.
Germany is a third product. The firm’s associates advert covering Berlin, Hamburg, Mannheim, Munich and Stuttgart prints Jahresgrundgehälter by Berufsjahr after admission as Rechtsanwalt: year 1 €190,000, year 2 €195,000, year 3 €205,000, year 4 €215,000, year 5 €230,000, gross full-time. Munich and Hamburg careers pages were openly hiring attorneys, trainees, law clerks and interns as of the September 2026 check. Paris publishes no associate scale in the files we have; the Paris careers page asks for complete fluency in English and treats a French or EU bar as a plus, not a gate. Australia, France, and Gulf associate cash were not public in the same files. They are omitted, not estimated.
U.S. class-year matchLocal scale the firm sets
- U.S. dollar match A published first-year base and a scorecard eighth-year endpoint. The firm matched a Milbank raise. It did not originate a Cravath lockstep, and it did not publish the rungs in between.
- London sterling PQE A table the firm sets in pounds, paid to already-qualified disputes lawyers. Ability, the London careers page says, not the year of qualification. No training contract.
- German Berufsjahr A euro scale keyed to years after German admission, on a firm PDF, with open associate and trainee intake. Dual-qualified laterals are a different hire from a U.S. class-year seat.
The associate earns a W-2. The general counsel pays an invoice.
The lawyer who earns this cash is not on your payroll.
The employer of record is a global litigation partnership. The economic buyer is the company, fund or public body that retains it. In-house teams do not publish a matching lockstep for their own staff.
Who writes the checkWhat the check is for
- The W-2 employer Quinn Emanuel employs the associate or partner. U.S. offices were accepting associate and federal-clerk applications. London hires already-qualified solicitors and barristers. Germany hires on a local admission.
- The invoice buyer A general counsel, chief legal officer, deputy GC, head of litigation, audit committee or special committee retains the firm for a dispute. That is who pays the 2026 cash, as fees, at Am Law 100 rates.
- The in-house payroll Corporate legal departments do not copy this class-year figure onto staff counsel seats. They hire a different product, on a different clock, and they send overflow to cheaper firms when the work is routine.
The associate earns a W-2. The general counsel pays an invoice. Quinn Emanuel’s recruiting-contacts page, accessed in September 2026, stated that U.S. offices were currently accepting applications for associates and from associates completing federal judicial clerkships. There is no corporate or transactional department. The practice-areas hub describes representation of Fortune 500 companies and other enterprises for business disputes. Legal 500 USA 2026, as listed on the firm’s 10 June 2026 news page, ranked the firm across 27 practice areas, all disputes or disputes-adjacent: general commercial disputes at a $500 million-plus premium, patent and ITC, white-collar and investigations directed by corporate general counsel and boards, securities on both plaintiff and defense, antitrust class actions, international arbitration, Delaware counsel. The cash attaches to those labels. It does not attach to an M&A execution seat.
Thomson Reuters and the Center on Ethics and the Legal Profession at Georgetown Law, in the 2026 Report on the State of the US Legal Market published 7 January 2026, recorded average Am Law 100 lawyer standard rates cracking the $1,000 barrier in 2025 against around $600 elsewhere, with average large-firm worked rates up 7.3 percent. Direct spending on lawyer compensation rose 8.2 percent against 2024; per-lawyer associate spend rose 3.8 percent; lawyer FTE rose 2.9 percent. Ninety percent of legal dollars remained hourly. Weekday-adjusted demand averaged 2.5 percent in 2025 and hit 4.4 percent in July. Am Law 100 demand, the same report said, could not crack 2 percent, while midsize firms approached 5 percent in the latter half as general counsel moved routine and moderately complex work off the most expensive panels. The Quinn Emanuel seat is the residual high-stakes slice, not the commodity file.
At a $1,000 standard rate, a first-year’s $235,000 base is less than 235 billed hours of that rate — which is the point a chief legal officer is actually buying, not a class-year to copy onto a requisition. That comparison uses the Thomson Reuters 2025 standard-rate print and the firm’s own 1 July 2026 first-year base; it is not a claim about realization, discounting, or this firm’s billed hours.
The U.S. associate who earns the 2026 cash is hired as a disputes lawyer, often through a clerkship gate, not as a corporate generalist.
- Clerkship is priced. The recruiting FAQ states a very significant percentage of the firm’s lawyers clerked for U.S. District Courts, federal courts of appeals, or the Delaware Court of Chancery. Federal clerks receive one-for-one year credit for seniority and compensation, up to two years. The $175,000 Article III bonus, plus $25,000 after a second qualifying clerkship, was confirmed by Law360 on 26 March 2025 and remains on the 2026 compensation page.
- Benefits that are public. The same U.S. page states 20 weeks of primary caregiver leave and 8 weeks of secondary, a family-building loan of up to $75,000 forgiven after twelve months, and 401(k) profit-sharing described as a fixed percentage of income if employment started on or before 1 July of that year, 1,000 hours were worked, and the lawyer is still employed past 31 December. The percentage itself is not disclosed, so it is not dollarized here.
- London is already qualified. The firm’s London advert for a Commercial Disputes Lawyer asks for 1–6 years post-admission disputes experience, England and Wales qualification, at least a 2:1, and experience at a large City firm or chambers. Trainees are considered only if they already have an offer from a disputes team. That is a retention market as of mid-June 2026, not an open NQ intake: The Lawyer reported on 19 June 2026 that the firm had paused associate hiring in London after a growth spurt at the end of 2025, in the same month NQ pay rose to £189,000.
The in-house reader is not matching a class year. They are deciding whether this disputes product is the file, and at what rate.
- Investigations are directed in-house. The firm’s white-collar page describes internal investigations at the direction of corporate general counsel, boards, audit committees and special committees, against counterparties it lists as U.S. enforcement agencies, state attorneys general and district attorneys. The buyer title is on the company side of the table.
- Funds and pensions sit on both sides. The investment-fund litigation hub names hedge funds, private equity, venture, mutual funds and advisers, and separately pension funds, managed funds and government agencies as plaintiffs, including sovereign wealth fund work. A public-pension or sovereign-fund general counsel can be the plaintiff who funds the seat rather than the defendant who defends it.
- Substitution is already happening. The same Thomson Reuters report that put Am Law 100 standard rates over $1,000 in 2025 documented general counsel moving routine and moderately complex work to cheaper firms. The question for a head of legal is which files still justify this invoice, not whether staff counsel should be paid $235,000 because a first-year at the outside firm is.
Quinn Emanuel bonus is a gate. It is not a 2026 dollar table.
What the firm made public in June 2026 is how hours credit. What it did not publish, in any memo we, is the 2026 year-end bonus in dollars.
Two dated Above the Law measurements disagree on the hours floor. The 5 June 2026 scorecard listed 2,000 hours in the Quinn Emanuel column. A 22 June 2026 Above the Law piece described a 2,100-hour floor to access market-rate bonuses as above average. A general counsel comparing an offer, or a chief legal officer reading a lateral’s expectations, should treat the gate as a band until the firm publishes a single figure.
What did change, on the record, is pro bono credit. The American Lawyer reported on 18 June 2026 that the firm had tweaked its bonus system so pro bono is tracked and awarded separately, and that it would appoint a lawyer to a newly created pro bono counsel role. Previously, the same piece said, all pro bono work sat inside a 100-hour bonus cap. The 22 June 2026 Above the Law piece recorded the new pro bono track at up to 200 hours, in addition to the 100-hour non-billable bucket that still covers recruiting and pitches, with managing partners able to extend the cap in extraordinary cases. That is eligibility architecture. It is not a bonus check.
Cravath set a year-end bonus scale on 18 November 2025 that the ABA Journal recapped on 19 November 2025, running from $15,000 to $115,000 by class year plus special bonuses of $6,000 to $25,000. That is the lockstep market schedule other U.S. firms matched in late 2025. It is not a Quinn Emanuel bonus memo, and no 2026 Quinn Emanuel year-end dollar table is public.
| Hours | Dated source | What it is | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scorecard column | 2,000 | Above the Law, 5 June 2026 | Hours listed against Quinn Emanuel |
| Market-rate floor | 2,100 | Above the Law, 22 June 2026 | Described as above average to access market-rate bonuses |
| Pro bono track | up to 200 | Above the Law, 22 June 2026 | Own credit, on top of a 100-hour non-billable bucket |
Figures: Above the Law 5 June and 22 June 2026; The American Lawyer 18 June 2026 on the prior 100-hour cap. None of these rows is a 2026 Quinn Emanuel bonus check.
Quinn Emanuel PEP is a 2025 print. 2026 is still a forecast.
The associate scale is a 2026 cash product. The partner print that a general counsel uses to read the platform is a 2025 Am Law 100 result, with a 2026 target sitting on top of it.
Above the Law, recapping the 2026 Am Law 100 on 15 April 2026, put Quinn Emanuel profits per equity partner at $9.545 million for 2025, up 10.44 percent, rank 4 behind Wachtell, Kirkland and Davis Polk. Revenue per lawyer was $2.453 million, up 23.39 percent, rank 7. The Am Law 100 as a cohort, The American Lawyer reported on 14 April 2026, saw PEP rise 14.0 percent in 2025. Those are 2025 results published in 2026. They are not 2026 partner cash, and they are not an associate bonus.
Co-managing partners told The American Lawyer on 18 August 2026 that the firm was on track to exceed $3 billion in revenue and $10 million in profits per equity partner in 2026, surpassing a 2022 goal to double both metrics. The lede of that piece frames the figures as a prediction for the end of 2026. A general counsel reading platform health can use the 2025 PEP and RPL as closed numbers. The 2026 pair is a target as of 18 August. Distribution inside an equity partnership is not in the Am Law survey, so neither print is an individual partner paycheck.
Headcount is a band, not a single count. The firm homepage, accessed in September 2026, describes a 1,100+ attorney business-litigation firm with 33 offices. Firm news on 11 June 2026 used the same “more than 1,100 attorneys” language and said office locations had tripled from 11 to 33 in ten years, with 121 rankings in the Chambers USA guide and 181 recognitions in the Legal 500 USA guide. A Chambers Global 2026 profile, content provided by the firm, says 1300+ lawyers and 33 global offices. The working band is 1,100–1,400 attorneys, 33 offices. The “nearly $80 billion” in plaintiff judgments and settlements on those same pages is a firm-stated cumulative marketing total, not a 2025 or 2026 flow, and is not used as a run-rate.
The 2026 docket that prices this seat is not a lockstep.
A general counsel does not buy a class year. They buy trial, ITC, white-collar, securities or English-seated arbitration capacity, on dockets that moved in 2025 and 2026.
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, in Judicial Business 2025 for the year ending 30 September 2025, recorded 303,563 civil filings in U.S. district courts, up 4 percent from fiscal 2024. Federal-question filings were 157,421, up 12 percent; diversity filings were 96,548, down 7 percent. The Central District of California, the district that contains the firm’s Los Angeles headquarters, commenced 17,755 civil cases in fiscal 2025 against 16,291 the year before, per Table C in the same release. Those filings are the volume behind commercial, IP, securities and white-collar demand. They are not Quinn Emanuel’s docket.
Intellectual property is the firm’s largest practice. The patent-litigation page states that more than 80 percent of its IP cases involve patents, that more than 250 of its lawyers are experienced IP litigators including 96 patent partners, and that more than 200 of its litigators are scientists or engineers. It names California, Texas, New Jersey and Delaware as venues, and describes Germany as the second most important venue after the United States for patent disputes globally. Technology-company general counsel sit on both sides of that table.
That patent product is being repriced by venue, not by a salary memo. The Federal Circuit in Lashify, Inc. v. ITC, decided 5 March 2025, held that the economic prong of Section 337 covers significant employment of labor or capital without carving out sales, marketing, warehousing, quality control or distribution, and without requiring accompanying domestic manufacturing. USITC tables updated 3 February 2026 record 48 Section 337 investigations in calendar 2025. A separate fiscal-year table on the same date counts 57 new complaints or ancillary proceedings, 69 completed and 119 active in FY2025. Those are different series. Accused infringers who used PTAB as an off-ramp are, on the firm’s 19 March 2026 publication reading Director orders, meeting discretionary-denial rates of 64 percent of petitions Director Squires considered through 24 February 2026 — which sends validity fights back toward district-court trial teams and ITC counsel, the product this cash attaches to.
The Unified Patent Court, in statistics current to 31 March 2026, counted 1,183 Court of First Instance cases since operations began on 1 June 2023, with 125 CFI cases in the first quarter of 2026. English was the language of 68.80 percent of that quarter’s cases, German 28.00 percent. German local divisions in that quarter sat at Munich 28, Düsseldorf 27, Mannheim 20 and Hamburg 10. That geography is why a German Berufsjahr scale and open Munich and Hamburg hiring sit on the same firm as a U.S. class-year match. It is not a headcount forecast.
London’s docket is not a mirror of the U.S. raise. The Commercial Court Report 2024–2025, published 25 March 2026, recorded 609 new Commercial Court claims in the legal year, down 18 percent from 743, with all sub-divisions at 1,140. The Ministry of Justice Business and Property Courts infographic for calendar 2025 recorded 16,014 BPC cases issued and 1,048 in the Commercial Court. The Arbitration Act 2025’s remaining provisions commenced on 1 August 2025 under SI 2025/905, restating English-seated arbitration and Commercial Court support applications. That statute supports the London disputes product. It does not, by itself, expand headcount: the 19 June 2026 intake pause sits on top of it.
White-collar volume ran the other way for part of 2025. A 10 February 2025 White House executive order directed a 180-day pause on new FCPA investigations and enforcement actions. The accompanying fact sheet put 2024 Department of Justice and SEC FCPA-related actions at 26 against a decade average of 36 a year. Deputy Attorney General guidelines dated 9 June 2025 then narrowed surviving FCPA work to cartel-linked bribery, identifiable U.S.-competitor harm, national-security infrastructure, and substantial individual misconduct. The SEC, in release 2026-34 on 7 April 2026, reported 456 enforcement actions for the fiscal year ended 30 September 2025, with cleaned monetary relief of $1.4 billion in disgorgement and $1.3 billion in civil penalties after excluding deemed-satisfied amounts and the Stanford Ponzi judgments. The same release recorded 1,095 matters investigated and closed without action. Harvard’s Forum on Corporate Governance, on 21 January 2026, recorded zero new SEC FCPA actions in FY2025. A general counsel still writing a sprawling multi-jurisdiction FCPA review as the default investigations file is specifying last year’s hours.
Delaware volume is thinner on controller deals that clear the new harbor. Richards, Layton & Finger records that the Governor signed Senate Substitute 1 to Senate Bill 21 on 25 March 2025, amending DGCL §144 and §220. Reuters reported on 27 February 2026 that the Delaware Supreme Court upheld the 2025 overhaul. Remaining M&A-litigation and Delaware-counsel hours sit on deals that miss the harbor, on the narrower books-and-records fights, and on the transition cases through that February decision — Chancery-experienced mid-levels, not first-year volume.
Hours that thinnedHours that stayed priced
- FCPA and crypto volume A pause, then a U.S.-interests filter. Junior investigation staffing is not the 2022–24 product. Remaining files are individual, cartel, sanctions and procurement.
- ITC and trial patent A wider Section 337 complainant set, a live ITC docket, and a weaker PTAB off-ramp. This is the firm’s largest practice talking.
- English-seated arbitration A restated Arbitration Act and a Commercial Court that still lists trials. The sterling scale is a retention instrument sitting on that product, not an open NQ class.
Copying boutique class-year cash onto an in-house requisition is how a search stalls.
What the Los Angeles associate desk actually sees when this figure hits a brief.
Sartori has worked the Los Angeles associate market for more than ten years. The 2026 boutique figure shows up on company briefs as often as it shows up on candidate expectations, and it is usually in the wrong slot.
Sartori’s Los Angeles mandate telemetry records 30 closed associate searches over the trailing three years; 13 were disputes-anchored: a trial-boutique or litigation-group lateral, or an in-house disputes seat at a company that had just seen a Quinn Emanuel-class invoice. In 4 of those 13, the first specification copied boutique class-year cash onto the company’s payroll and the search stalled until the brief was rewritten as a fee-versus-salary problem. That is our miss as often as it is the client’s.
Of 164 respondents in Sartori’s Los Angeles interview cohort who sat as general counsel, chief legal officer, deputy GC or head of litigation at companies over a 24-month window, 97 said they had benchmarked a trial-boutique invoice against their own counsel payroll in the same year. 61 of those 97 treated the first-year figure as a rate they fund, not a number they match in-house. A general counsel at a Los Angeles-headquartered technology company told Sartori the board had asked why in-house counsel “did not cost $235,000” after seeing a trial-firm invoice.
Sartori’s Los Angeles associate mandate telemetry over three years records a 93 percent completion rate and a typical timeline of 6 to 12 weeks. Sartori’s quarterly survey since 2019 puts counter-offer incidence at 33 percent and the median offer-to-acceptance window at 9 working days. In 3 of the 30 closed searches, time-to-fill ran past the twelve-week typical band; two of those three were files where the first client memo omitted the hours gate.
Two anonymized composites, both inside that envelope. A Los Angeles technology company opened a head-of-disputes counsel seat after a patent trial invoice landed on the audit committee. The first brief wrote a boutique class-year base as the in-house number. The search sat until the specification was rewritten around docket ownership, reporting line and outside counsel use; it then closed in ten weeks, inside the typical band. A PE-backed healthcare platform tried to hire a mid-level disputes lawyer off a trial-firm offer, matched cash on an in-house total-comp package, and lost on the hours gate. The second slate closed at eleven weeks once the hours comparison was in the first memo rather than the last.
Sartori maps nearly 1.5 million lawyer profiles and has run quarterly market surveys since 2019. The Los Angeles associate desk works for law firms filling disputes seats and for companies that had just paid a trial invoice and were deciding whether the next disputes lawyer belonged inside the department.
What this 2026 figure leaves out on purpose.
A salary page that estimates the unpublished rungs is not more useful. It is less true. The gaps below are the ones a general counsel and a candidate should budget for.
For a general counsel, chief legal officer or head of HR putting a disputes lawyer on the company payroll, the usable comparison is not this scale. It is whether the file still belongs at Am Law 100 rates, which in-house seat owns the docket, and what the hours gate will do to a candidate who is leaving this platform. Our general counsel salary benchmark and in-house counsel salary guide are the in-house numbers. The Am Law top-50 partner-pay read is the platform read. If the seat to fill is inside the company, in-house counsel recruiting is the mandate, not a request to clone a boutique W-2.
For the associate or partner who earns the 2026 cash, the published U.S. first-year base and the London PQE table are the numbers that can be checked. The hours gate cannot: treat 2,000 and 2,100 as a band until a firm memo settles it, and do not price a move on a Cravath bonus ladder this firm has not published. Clerkship credit, up to two years, and the $175,000 Article III bonus are on the careers page; they are part of the seat, not a rumor.
For the general counsel who pays the invoice, three questions beat a copied class year. Does this file still belong at Am Law 100 rates after Thomson Reuters recorded those rates crossing $1,000 in 2025? Who inside the company — general counsel, deputy, head of litigation, audit committee — actually directs it? And if the hire is in-house, what hours can the company honestly offer against a 2,000- or 2,100-hour bonus floor? Those are staffing questions. They are not a request to put $235,000 on an internal requisition because a first-year at the outside firm earns it.
Quinn Emanuel compensation: questions from both sides of the invoice
What is the Quinn Emanuel salary for a first-year associate in 2026?
A U.S. first-year associate earns a $235,000 base as of 1 July 2026, published on the firm's own compensation page. The American Lawyer reported on 4 June 2026 that the firm was matching Milbank's raise of $10,000 for years one through four and $20,000 for fifth years and above. The page does not publish the rest of a class-year ladder. First-year associates are eligible for a year-end bonus; 2026 bonus dollars at this firm are not on a memo.
Does Quinn Emanuel publish a full eight-rung U.S. class-year table?
No. The firm published the $235,000 first-year figure; Above the Law's 5 June 2026 scorecard recorded a $455,000 class-of-2018 endpoint. Intermediate rungs belong to the lockstep market tracker, not to a Quinn Emanuel memo, and are not treated here as this firm's table.
What is Quinn Emanuel NQ salary in London in 2026?
Newly qualified London associates moved to £189,000 from 1 July 2026, up 5 percent from £180,000, Legal Cheek reported on 5 June 2026. The same table runs to a 7 PQE and above band of £331,000–£373,000. The firm does not currently offer UK training contracts. The Lawyer reported on 19 June 2026 that London associate hiring had been paused after a late-2025 growth spurt.
What is Quinn Emanuel PEP?
Profits per equity partner were $9.545 million for 2025, rank 4 in the 2026 Am Law 100 as recapped by Above the Law on 15 April 2026. Co-managing partners told The American Lawyer on 18 August 2026 the firm was on track to exceed $3 billion in revenue and $10 million in PEP by the end of 2026 — a forecast, not a closed year.
Should a general counsel copy this scale onto in-house payroll?
A $235,000 class-year W-2 is not what in-house teams pay. They fund fees. Thomson Reuters and Georgetown Law, in the 2026 Report on the State of the US Legal Market (7 January 2026), recorded average Am Law 100 standard rates crossing $1,000 in 2025 against around $600 elsewhere. The associate earns a W-2; the company funds an invoice.
What hours sit on Quinn Emanuel bonus eligibility?
Above the Law's 5 June 2026 scorecard listed 2,000 hours for Quinn Emanuel; a 22 June 2026 Above the Law piece described a 2,100-hour floor for market-rate bonuses. From 18 June 2026 the firm also tracks pro bono on its own credit track, up to 200 hours, on top of a 100-hour non-billable bucket.

Associate cash is the named firm's published figure or a dated scorecard print for this firm. PEP and RPL are 2025 Am Law 100 results; the 2026 revenue and PEP pair is a management forecast as of 18 August 2026. Docket, ITC, UPC and rate figures measure the market that prices the invoice, not Quinn Emanuel's own matter count. Sartori interview, mapping and mandate figures are internal research, reviewed by the owner before publication.
Compensation data is general information, not financial, career or legal advice. Actual pay varies by office, hours, bonus eligibility, class-year credit and currency. A figure that is not on a public dated source is omitted.
