Apply in confidence →Top-tier Washington, D.C. energy regulatory team seeks a mid-level associate with 4–6 years’ experience to support a market-leading data center power practice and broader energy regulatory matters. The role combines transactional work (power supply and infrastructure agreements) with regulatory advocacy before FERC and state utility commissions.
Work will include drafting pleadings and briefs, administrative and appellate advocacy, negotiating commercial contracts, supporting energy project development and M&A, and collaborating with experts on testimony. The team advises on matters spanning data centers, generation, transmission, pipelines and LNG, and represents a range of clients including developers, utilities, producers and investors.
The group emphasizes mentorship and professional development; ideal candidates will have strong research and writing, experience in regulatory proceedings or data center-related transactions, comfort interacting with clients, and the ability to work in a fast-moving regulatory and commercial environment.
- 4–6 years’ PQE in energy regulatory and transactional matters
- Experience before FERC and/or state utility commissions preferred
- Experience with data center power supply negotiations or related infrastructure transactions a plus
- Strong legal research, drafting and advocacy skills; client-facing experience and a collaborative approach
