A leading US law firm is seeking current judicial clerks to join as associates as part of its lateral clerk hiring program. The firm actively recruits lawyers with federal and state clerkship experience into specific practice groups and offices, valuing the analytical and practical skills that former clerks bring to client work.

More than 200 of the firm's attorneys are former judicial clerks, including clerks from the U.S. Supreme Court, federal Courts of Appeals, federal District Courts, and state Supreme Courts. Because the firm evaluates lateral clerk needs on a rolling basis, interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and writing sample.

Successful candidates receive a competitive clerkship bonus and development year credit for their clerkship experience. The anticipated initial annual salary range is $170,000 – $335,000, depending on office location and other job-related factors. Total compensation also includes productivity and discretionary bonuses, life, health, accident and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Graduated from law school and currently clerking for a judge
Prior experience practicing as a licensed attorney at a law firm before the clerkship
Clerkship experience in federal or state courts preferred
