A globally recognized law firm is seeking a midlevel to senior associate to join its Chambers-ranked California Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources team. This role sits at the center of energy transition, infrastructure development, and policy advocacy in California and the Western United States.

The associate will advise sponsors of significant multijurisdictional energy and infrastructure projects, including major electric transmission lines, renewable and conventional generation, legacy infrastructure decommissioning and repurposing, complex utility systems, and data center infrastructure. The role also offers opportunities to represent clients in high-stakes project litigation in federal and state courts.

This is a collaborative, high-performance environment offering hands-on mentorship from industry leaders and substantive responsibility on headline projects. The position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

4–7 years of environmental, land use, or energy regulatory experience at a major law firm, relevant government agency, or highly regarded environmental boutique
Deep familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, and related natural resource laws
Experience representing project sponsors in energy and infrastructure matters, including transmission, renewable generation, storage, water infrastructure, and/or carbon capture
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
Strong analytical, research, drafting, and counseling skills
Experience managing matters independently, supervising junior associates and paralegals, and driving deliverables to completion
