Capital Markets Attorney — Washington, D.C.

An internationally recognized corporate practice is seeking a capital markets attorney with two to six years of experience to join its Washington, D.C. office. The role sits within a sophisticated, full-service corporate group handling public securities work for a demanding client base.

The position involves representing companies and underwriters in public securities offerings, including IPOs and other equity and equity-linked transactions, with emphasis on the technology, consumer/retail and life sciences sectors. The attorney will also advise public companies on corporate governance and SEC and exchange reporting and compliance, and will take on direct client-relationship management responsibilities.

Candidates should bring a high level of academic achievement and prior experience in the capital markets department of a national or international law firm. The role offers significant client contact and day-to-day workflow responsibility across a range of matters.

• Two to six years of capital markets and public securities experience
• Experience representing companies and underwriters in public offerings, including IPOs and equity or equity-linked transactions
• Familiarity with corporate governance and SEC and exchange reporting and compliance for public companies
• Prior experience in the capital markets department of a national or international law firm
• Strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and handle varied workflow demands
