Corporate Associate — M&A, Venture Capital & Private Equity — San Diego

A dynamic corporate practice is seeking a transactional associate to join its San Diego office. The group blends comprehensive legal expertise with practical business counseling, helping clients clarify goals and execute complex transactions across a range of industries, including technology and life sciences.

The associate will support the firm's mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, and venture capital practices, with opportunities to work on private equity transactions. The role requires providing efficient legal service both independently and as part of a team, quickly integrating into a national corporate practice, and committing to the highest quality of client service. This is an on-track partnership position dedicated to professional development.

The firm operates with a hybrid work model, requiring approximately 60% in-office presence in accordance with published guidelines.

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted or eligible for admission in California
• 2+ years of M&A, securities, venture capital, and/or private equity experience, ideally at a leading national or international law firm
• Private equity transaction experience preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong critical reasoning, professionalism, and client engagement abilities
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, balance competing responsibilities, and collaborate effectively in team settings
