The role focuses on privacy- and data-security-related litigation and regulatory enforcement matters and is open to candidates for placement in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, D.C.
Typical matters include defending data-privacy class actions and handling regulatory investigations brought by state attorneys general, the FTC, and similar authorities. The team works cross-office and internationally; associates are expected to manage significant project work, engage directly with clients, and contribute to strategy and drafting in complex disputes.
The practice values strong analytical and writing skills, comfort with technology-related issues, and a proven record on privacy, data-security, or consumer-protection litigation and investigations.
- 4–6 years of litigation and/or regulatory investigations experience focused on privacy, data security, or consumer protection enforcement
- Experience defending data-privacy and security class actions and handling matters under statutes such as the Stored Communications Act, state UDAP/UDTP laws, and related claims
- Proven drafting, analytical, and case-management skills; ability to lead significant projects and interact directly with clients
- Strong academic credentials and general technology fluency
