Cyber/Data/Privacy Litigation Associate

Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, seeks a midlevel associate (4–6 years) to join its nationally recognized Cyber/Data/Privacy practice group, focusing on litigation and regulatory enforcement investigations involving privacy and data security matters. The role is available in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, DC.

The group comprises more than 30 full-time attorneys across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia, with an expanding award-winning litigation and investigations practice. Ideal candidates will have experience:

• Defending data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and data breach class actions
• Handling regulatory investigations and enforcement actions brought by state Attorneys General, the FTC, and other regulatory agencies

Successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school, the ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects, general technology fluency, and impeccable analytical and writing skills. The expected annual pay range for this position is $310,000–$390,000, with final offers dependent on geographic location, experience, and skill set. • 4–6 years of experience in privacy and data security litigation and/or regulatory investigations
• Experience with State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agency investigations, and/or defending data privacy and security class actions
• High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school
• Strong client engagement, project leadership, technology fluency, and excellent analytical and writing skills
