We are seeking a junior associate to join a highly regarded data privacy and artificial intelligence practice in Raleigh. The successful candidate will advise a wide range of clients on analyzing and mitigating risks arising from the collection, storage, distribution, and use of data.

The role centers on privacy counseling and guidance, including the review and drafting of data retention policies, data privacy and data processing agreements, incident response plans, incident reports, and breach notifications. The associate will also assist with data breach response matters and handle artificial intelligence (AI) matters, while staying current on state and federal privacy and AI laws and cybersecurity regulations.

1–3 years of relevant data privacy experience, with at least one year in data privacy, data protection, and/or data security
Demonstrated interest in the field, including CIPP certification
Some experience with AI matters preferred
Some experience with incident response and data breach matters preferred
Solid academic record, strong legal research and writing skills, and keen attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and demonstrated initiative
Active and admitted to the local state bar or eligible to waive in
