Derivatives Associate

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking an associate to join its Derivatives practice in New York. The role focuses on transactional and regulatory matters involving derivatives and related trading arrangements, including day-to-day trading documentation and complex derivatives transactions in connection with financings, acquisitions, capital markets, credit risk transfers, and other strategic or structured transactions.

Relevant experience should include:

• Negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and other derivatives documentation
• Prime brokerage, repurchase, securities lending, futures, clearing, custody, or related trading arrangements
• Structuring and documenting equity, credit, interest rate, FX, commodity, or other derivatives, including bespoke hedging and risk transfer transactions
• Advising on derivatives regulatory matters, including Dodd-Frank, CFTC requirements, and margin rules

Experience representing investment managers, private funds, corporate end users, or other buy-side participants is preferred; candidates with dealer-side or in-house derivatives experience are also welcome. Strong academic credentials, excellent drafting and analytical skills, sound judgment, and interest in developing a broad financial markets practice are required. New York Bar admission or eligibility is preferred.
