Apply in confidence →Top-tier international law firm seeks a 3-6 year associate to join its Financial Institutions practice in the United States. The role focuses on advising banks, fintechs, payment platforms, processors and crypto companies on regulatory and compliance matters.
Work will cover a broad mix of matters, including federal banking law, consumer protection, anti-money‑laundering and sanctions, supervisory and enforcement matters, and transactional regulatory counseling. The team advises on both routine compliance and high‑stakes regulatory issues.
- 3–6 years post‑JD experience advising banks, fintechs, payment processors or similar financial institutions (experience at a regulator, law firm or in‑house is valued)
- Familiarity with federal banking statutes and regulation (e.g. Bank Holding Company Act, National Bank Act, Federal Reserve Act, FDIA) and related regulatory frameworks
- Experience with consumer financial protection laws and regulations (e.g. EFTA/Reg E, TILA/Reg Z, FCRA, ECOA/Reg B) and UDAAP issues
- Knowledge of AML and economic sanctions regimes (OFAC, FinCEN) and experience advising on supervisory, enforcement or regulatory compliance matters
- Strong legal research, writing and oral communication skills; ability to manage client workstreams and collaborate on multi‑disciplinary teams
