A growing, specialist financial services regulatory practice in Singapore is seeking an associate to work directly with the partner on a broad range of non-contentious regulatory, licensing and strategic advisory matters.

The practice serves a diverse client base of banks, asset managers, broker-dealers, payment service providers, fintech businesses, fund managers, technology providers, family offices, corporate finance advisers and other regulated financial institutions, supporting them across the full regulatory lifecycle — from business model structuring and market-entry analysis through licensing, regulatory change projects and ongoing compliance.

You can expect early responsibility and direct client contact, advising on licensing and regulatory approvals, conduct of business requirements, governance, outsourcing, AML/CTF obligations, fund and alternative investment structuring, new products and distribution arrangements, fintech and digital assets, and cross-border financial services issues across Asia-Pacific. The role also involves drafting regulatory-facing documents and compliance policies, regulatory due diligence, thought leadership, and contributing to business development.

3–7 years' post-qualification experience at a leading international or top-tier local law firm
Strong financial services regulatory experience, ideally across asset management, capital markets, payments, banking, fintech or private funds
Solid understanding of Singapore financial services regulation and the role of the MAS; Asia-Pacific regional experience advantageous
Experience managing matters autonomously with direct client responsibility
Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills with a practical, commercial approach
Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset
