A newly scoped in-house legal role sits within a global law firm's Legal & Regulatory function, focused on reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with a primary emphasis on supplier and procurement-related contracts across an international office network. The position also supports review of client service agreements where needed.

The lawyer will work across a broad range of business functions — including IT, HR and other business services teams — helping to identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, data protection and commercial risk before the firm enters into contractual arrangements. Close collaboration with Procurement, Data Protection and Information Security colleagues is central to the role, alongside support for governance committees and internal approval processes.

Beyond transactional work, the position promotes best-practice procurement, supplier governance and risk management, and involves developing policies, templates, guidance and training for lawyers and business services staff. The role requires the ability to advise pragmatically and at pace, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory obligations.

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with relevant post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house
  • Strong contract review, drafting and negotiation experience, particularly supplier, procurement and technology agreements
  • Good working knowledge of UK data protection law, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to give practical, solution-focused advice
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels of seniority
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including drafting clear guidance and precedents
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel between offices with reasonable notice
