IP Senior Associate — Chemistry (Intellectual Property)

Seeking a senior-level IP associate with a strong chemistry/chemical engineering background to join a national intellectual property practice. The role combines patent prosecution and litigation support across life sciences and chemistry-related technologies.

Work will include preparing and prosecuting patent applications, drafting office-action responses, conducting patent and literature searches, supporting opinions and freedom-to-operate analyses, coordinating foreign filings, and assisting on litigation matters as needed. The role is open to several U.S. offices (Boston, Denver, New York, Palo Alto, Washington, D.C.).

• Advanced scientific degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or closely related field (PhD, MS, or BS with relevant experience).
• Experience in patent prosecution and familiarity with patent litigation support (drafting applications, office-action responses, prior-art searching).
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work directly with inventors and cross-functional teams.
• Admission to a U.S. bar and/or registration to practice before the USPTO preferred; candidates may be asked to provide law school and undergraduate/graduate transcripts.
