Junior Associate, Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss

We are seeking an NQ–2 PQE solicitor to join an expanding Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team, based in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value and sensitive claims for leading insurer, corporate and public body clients.

The team handles every aspect of a claim, from liability investigations and policy coverage assessments to quantum assessments across all levels of multi-track claims. Work includes motor, employer's liability, public liability and abuse claims, as well as public law actions, particularly judicial reviews.

You will assist experienced partners with complex matters while carrying your own varied caseload, with genuine opportunities to develop client relationships. The environment is collaborative, supportive and flexible, with a strong focus on learning and development.

• NQ–2 PQE (guidance only; all suitable candidates considered)
• Previous experience of catastrophic personal injury and large loss cases
• Experience of personal injury litigation
• Strong investigative skills, including witness statements and review of medical records and reports
• Ability to manage a varied caseload proactively and strategically, including compliance with court timetables and client SLAs/MI requirements
• Highly determined and adaptable in a demanding, fast-paced team
• Drafting of legal documents and client advice; dealing with interlocutory proceedings and CCMCs
