Junior Associate - Large Loss Personal Injury Litigation - Manchester

We are seeking a Junior Associate to join an established Large Loss team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor to develop their career within a specialist team handling complex, high-value personal injury claims, working primarily on Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) matters.

The role involves managing a caseload of EL and PL claims appropriate to your experience while supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value large loss matters. You will investigate liability, causation and quantum; review medical records, witness evidence, expert reports and disclosure; and draft correspondence, court documents, instructions to experts and counsel, and other legal documentation.

You will assist with preparing cases for conferences, hearings, joint settlement meetings and trial, and will liaise with clients, insurers, witnesses, experts, counsel and other parties throughout the lifecycle of a claim. The position offers exposure to sophisticated litigation and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

• Qualified solicitor with experience in personal injury litigation (NQ to 2 PQE)
• Previous experience of Employers' Liability and/or Public Liability claims, ideally within a defendant practice
• Good understanding of the litigation process and the Civil Procedure Rules
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Practical, commercial approach to claims
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a wider team
• Keen to develop technical expertise in complex and large loss litigation; prior large loss experience advantageous but not essential
