Structured Finance & Derivatives Associate

A leading international law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate to join its highly regarded Structured Finance & Derivatives practice. The role may sit in one of several major U.S. offices and offers early responsibility and close collaboration with partners in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The successful candidate will focus on esoteric asset backed securitization and related structured finance matters, working on complex, cross-border transactions for a broad range of clients. The practice is collaborative and intellectually demanding, with opportunities to manage discrete workstreams and advance matters with increasing independence.

Candidates should be motivated and eager to learn, with strong organizational skills and sound judgment. The ability to collaborate effectively across teams and work seamlessly with colleagues and clients across different jurisdictions and cultures is important.

• 2–5 years of relevant legal experience in esoteric asset backed securitization; exceptional candidates with more or less experience will be considered.
• Finance-related experience preferred, including structured finance, leveraged finance, asset finance, banking, project finance, fund finance, or tax.
• Strong sense of ownership, reliability, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent judgment, organizational skills, and cross-border collaboration abilities.
• Admission to, or eligibility for admission to, the New York, North Carolina, or California Bar.
• Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and U.S. Bar membership required.
