We are seeking a professional-track counsel to join a sophisticated Life Sciences practice, with the role open across multiple major U.S. offices. The team counsels life science companies, investment firms, academic research institutions, and NGOs engaged in the discovery, development, manufacture, and commercialization of novel therapeutics, devices, digital health and research tools, and diagnostics.

The position centers on leading and supporting transactions involving clinical-stage and commercial-stage manufacturing, manufacturing technology licensing, and related supply chain arrangements for therapeutic products. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements for biologics, gene therapies, large-molecule products, and other pharmaceutical products, including manufacturing services, quality, supply, and licensing arrangements.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role that involves working directly with technical operations, quality, business development, senior management, and boards of directors at biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and CDMOs. The successful candidate will manage multiple matters and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and will supervise and mentor junior lawyers while contributing to knowledge sharing across the practice.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a sophisticated life sciences transactional practice at a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Deep experience with clinical-stage and commercial-stage manufacturing, manufacturing technology licensing, and supply chain agreements for therapeutic products.
  • Familiarity with biology and chemistry principles relevant to pharmaceutical design and function.
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework governing therapeutic development and commercialization.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property licensing and biotechnology business development practices.
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Sophisticated communication skills and confidence interacting directly with technical, operational, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and deliver pragmatic advice under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to teamwork, knowledge sharing, and the development of junior lawyers.
