Mid-Level M&A / Private Equity Associate — New York

A globally recognized corporate practice is seeking a mid-level associate to join its market-leading M&A and private equity team in New York. The group advises multinational corporations, private equity sponsors, financial institutions, infrastructure funds, and growth-stage businesses on high-stakes public and private transactions.

The role involves strategic M&A work spanning mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts, take-privates, reorganizations, and public and private offerings. Associates manage multi-jurisdictional workstreams, oversee legal due diligence, and negotiate and draft transaction and ancillary documents from inception through closing.

Ideal candidates will have meaningful experience with power and renewable energy transactions, cross-border closings, and public company matters including securities filings. The position offers collaboration with specialists across tax, antitrust, employment, IP, data privacy, regulatory, and finance, and includes responsibility for mentoring junior associates and contributing to knowledge management and innovation initiatives.

• J.D., LL.M., or U.S. equivalent in law, plus at least 2 years of professional experience at an international law firm on M&A and equity investments.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Experience with power and renewable energy transactions, including U.S. energy regulatory frameworks.
• Experience executing multi-jurisdictional transactions across three or more international jurisdictions.
• Experience with public company transactions, including de-SPAC, IPOs, and shareholder activism, with involvement in U.S. securities filings.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and due diligence skills.
