Seeking an associate to join a national tax practice focusing on tax-exempt organizations and philanthropic clients. The role supports a busy team advising nonprofits, foundations, and related entities on tax, governance, and transactional matters.

This position is open to candidates for any U.S. office and will involve collaborating across practice groups on both advisory and transactional work, including structuring relationships between tax-exempt and for-profit entities and counseling on governance and compliance.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
3-6 years of substantive tax-exempt organizations / nonprofit law experience
Experience advising on tax-exempt status, private inurement/excess benefit rules, UBIT, Form 990 reporting, and structuring affiliations
Knowledge of nonprofit governance (formation, policies, conflicts of interest, executive compensation)
Strong legal writing, research, analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Bar admission and good standing in the jurisdiction of the hiring office
