National law firm is seeking a 3-6 year associate to join its Tax Practice Group focusing on tax-exempt organizations and nonprofit clients. The role supports a broad nonprofit and philanthropic practice and will involve counseling on tax-exempt status, compliance, governance, and related transactional matters.

This position is open to candidates in any U.S. office and will collaborate across practice groups on matters such as organizational structuring, executive compensation and Form 990 reporting. The team values strong writing, independent judgment, and a collegial, team-oriented approach.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
3-6 years' experience advising tax-exempt organizations / nonprofits
Substantive experience with tax-exempt organization rules (tax-exempt status, private inurement/excess benefit, UBIT, Form 990) and nonprofit governance
Excellent legal writing, research, analytical skills, and attention to detail
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple matters and work both independently and collaboratively
Bar admission and good standing in the jurisdiction of practice
