We are seeking to recruit an associate with a scientific background and qualification as a European Patent Attorney, with a strong interest in patent litigation. The successful candidate will join a leading intellectual property team that handles strategic and complex patent disputes before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and French courts, with a particular focus on life sciences and technology sectors.

The team advises French and international clients on high-stakes, technically demanding matters. You will work in an international environment, coordinating with the firm's other offices and foreign counsel. This is an opportunity to gain direct exposure to strategic international cases, develop recognised expertise in patent litigation, and work in a demanding, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment.

The role also offers training and support to develop your expertise and career, including support towards obtaining the French legal qualification (avocat) if not already held, including through available pathways. You will contribute to the practice's development through writing articles, attending conferences, delivering training, and participating in business development initiatives.

  • Graduate of a leading scientific institution, or holder of a doctorate or equivalent training, preferably in life sciences
  • Qualified as a European Patent Attorney; ideally also a French industrial property attorney or listed as qualified to represent third parties before the French IP Office (INPI)
  • Genuine interest in patent litigation, with some prior experience desirable
  • Full professional fluency in French and English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills, rigour, curiosity, and a strong team spirit
