A full-service Am Law 100 firm is seeking an associate to join its police and civil rights practice in Los Angeles. This is a trial-centric practice for attorneys who want to become trial lawyers or appellate advocates, handling police and civil rights matters and municipal liability defense.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with two in-person days per week in the downtown Los Angeles office and the remainder remote if desired. The firm provides competitive compensation and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with employer match.

Candidates with an interest in civil rights, municipal liability, or criminal law and a desire to build a trial practice are encouraged to apply.

Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience in any practice area, or minimum 3 years of criminal trial experience
Admission to the California Bar required
Willingness and ability to meet a minimum of 1,950 billable hours per year
Hybrid work arrangement: two in-person office days per week in downtown Los Angeles, remainder remote if desired
Preferred: experience with jury trials, depositions, written discovery, discovery motions, dispositive motions, appeals, case management, or client retention
Preferred: experience with police/civil rights and/or jail/prison cases (not required)
