An ambitious Managing Associate is sought to join a highly regarded Real Estate Disputes team within a leading international law firm's Manchester office. This is a senior, delivery-focused role advising on high-value, high-profile and often complex contentious property matters, with genuine ownership of strategy and client relationships.

You will handle a varied mix of real estate disputes, including contested and uncontested lease renewals, dilapidations claims, break notices, forfeiture and possession actions, alongside broader commercial litigation. Clients span landlords, tenants, developers, investors, corporate occupiers, retailers with large property portfolios, banks and financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and professional advisers. The team has acted on reported cases before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and is known for a strategic, commercial approach to litigation.

Day to day you will lead matters with autonomy, driving cases forward efficiently and commercially while working closely with partners and legal directors on the most business-critical mandates. You will also supervise and develop junior lawyers, support key client relationships, and contribute to business development, pitches and panel appointments.

  • England & Wales-qualified Solicitor with at least 6 years' post-qualification experience in Real Estate Disputes
  • Strong technical expertise across a broad range of contentious real estate matters, with confidence to lead complex landlord and tenant disputes
  • Ability to manage significant matters autonomously, exercising sound legal, procedural and strategic judgement
  • Commercial, solutions-focused approach aligned to clients' objectives and risk considerations
  • Excellent client relationship management skills as a trusted day-to-day adviser
  • Strong organisational and matter management skills, with effective delegation and supervision of junior lawyers
