An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious real estate lawyer (NQ–3 PQE) to join a growing Housing and Transition Finance Group in Leeds. The team is widely recognised as a market leader in the social housing sector and works with a diverse range of clients, including housing associations, developers, registered providers, funders and investors, on complex and high-value transactions across the UK.

Day to day, you will carry out real estate due diligence on large property portfolios — preparing and reviewing social housing and CLLS certificates of title, analysing title documentation, leases, easements, restrictions and charges, and articulating issues with practical, commercial solutions for funders and borrowers. You will assist on complex multi-funder, multi-tranche transactions, coordinating due diligence and reporting across funders, managing conditions precedent, and supporting senior fee earners to ensure consistency with property and security documents.

The role involves acting predominantly for funder-side clients, including UK and international banks, institutional investors, bondholders and security trustees, and requires an understanding of funder risk appetites and credit requirements. You will draft and negotiate security and transaction documents, review and report on real estate documentation, and manage the real estate workstream on transactions — maintaining CP checklists, liaising with borrowers' solicitors and other advisers, and driving deals to close efficiently.

You will need to be entrepreneurial and a self-starter: confident with clients, collaborative across transactions, proactive in driving deals forward and market-facing, with a hunger to develop your own network. Familiarity with market-standard certificates of title and comfort with bespoke drafting at the more senior end of the range are valued, alongside confidence with technology.

  • NQ–3 PQE real estate lawyer
  • Confident with title documentation, leases, easements and certificates of title
  • Commercially focused, solutions-driven approach
  • Strong client-handling and collaborative skills
  • Proactive self-starter with an interest in business development
  • Confident with bespoke drafting (depending on seniority)
