A global law firm
Apply in confidence →An international law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its Employment group on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in either of two UK office locations on a hybrid working basis. The role combines employment advisory work with a strong emphasis on contentious matters, and the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time acting for employers, primarily supporting UK-based clients while also advising Scottish clients on a varied and dynamic caseload.
The position involves managing a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including conducting Employment Tribunal advocacy where appropriate. The associate will also contribute to business development initiatives and play an active role in mentoring and leading junior team members.
This is an opportunity to take on a high level of responsibility within a collaborative, cross-office team, acting as a key point of contact for clients and delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice on complex HR and workplace issues.
- Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE, gained predominantly in employment law
- Strong technical expertise across contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Experience of Employment Tribunal litigation and advocacy
- Excellent drafting skills, including pleadings, contracts and advisory documentation
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact
- Experience supervising and leading junior team members, with a commitment to mentoring
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
